  1. The penalty claim was checked and turned down.
  2. Yes, I had my two emails an hour ago.
  3. A draw with lots of injuries to each side?
  4. When I saw The Times projection that we could have 36 points my immediate reaction was “nearly safe”
  5. Why Southampton can top the tree at Christmas Bill Edgar It is shaping up to be the craziest Premier League season on record and it is only going to get tougher as the clubs enter the hectic Christmas period. The 20 clubs will play five matches between now and the start of January with a full midweek fixture programme starting tonight. This season has been impossible to predict but — for a bit of festive fun — we decided to make an educated guess at who might sit top of the tree when the decorations come down. Our projected Premier League table indicates what might happen if teams continue to perform at their present level. It also takes into account the strength of the opposition: both those played this season and those still to be faced. Each team is given a ‘home’ and ‘away’ ranking. The home ranking is the halfway point between a team’s average points earned in home matches and the average points gained by their opponents in away matches. For example, Southampton average two points per game at home and their six opponents have averaged 1.41 points per game in away matches. Southampton’s ‘home’ ranking is therefore 1.71. To predict the results of the festive fixtures, we compared home teams’ home rankings with the away teams’ away rankings. Anything less than a difference of 0.15 between the rankings is counted as a draw, to maintain the Premier League’s draw rate of 20 per cent. Otherwise, the team with the higher figure earns victory. Southampton’s ‘home’ ranking of 1.71 is the second best in the Premier League and, under our projection, is enough to earn victories over Liverpool and Manchester City who have ‘away’ rankings of 1.30 and 1.22 respectively. Here, we have predicted the results of all 50 matches. If any results look strange, that is because they reflect a very strange season. 6. The Times this morning has a predicted table with us at the top after Christmas on 36 points after 17 games. The next three places are Leicester, Everton and Tottenham on 33, 33 and 32 points.
  7. I called the ticket office this afternoon and they confirmed that I had been sent all my due refunds. I had missed one back in October. The Newcastle refund was processed with the West Brom one on the 2nd November which was before the game was actually played. Refunds for Man Utd and Sheffield Utd are being processed at the moment. I asked about arrangements for Shrewsbury and was told that they are still under discussion.
  8. I tried my Firestick last night (no laughing there at the back) but couldn’t see anything about Now TV or Sky programmes on it. I also have Virgin TiVo so I’ll have a look at that later.
  9. Well, every Lidl helps.
  10. The Times this morning says that Amazon Prime and Sky have agreed to share general content. I don't know when this starts.
  11. I still haven't received my refund for the Newcastle game let alone Man Utd. Time for a phone call methinks.
  12. So why was he so disappointing for us?
  13. Sad to see the passing of such a nice man.
  14. He slotted in seamlessly and didn’t seem out of place in any way. He looks promising. Maybe a full run out against Shrewsbury?
  15. Vestergaard and Che are both in Tony Cascarino’s team of the week in The Times today.
  16. Thanks. Good news
  17. What happened about the ID checking? Asking for a friend.
  18. We shall never know but if he’d come here he might have been a nice boy
  19. Why? He is the one in charge of time.
  20. Outstanding
  21. Didn’t he play for Newcastle?
  22. It must be a nightmare for the club. You might be in Tier 2 on the Tuesday when they hold the ballot but then changed to Tier 3 on the Thursday which would come into effect on the Saturday so you wouldn’t then be able to travel. Part of London are bad and there is some pressure to move them into Tier 3.
  23. Amen to that.
  24. I’ve just checked the dares for the next COVID Tier review. “The tiers will will be reviewed on 16 December, any changes to the tiers will be announced on 17 December, and changes will come into force on 19 December.” So any reviews will be in force for the Man City game on Saturday the 19th.
