...and people forget that there were four days of top-class ocean cruising until the Titanic hit that iceberg.

It wouldn't matter who we signed if they're under strict instructions never to get into the opposition's penalty area. Against WBA I lost count of the times that the ball was put into the box against seven defenders (plus goalkeeper) and there was no Saints' player anywhere near them. I've watched a few games over the last couple of days and in a typical attack there are usually three or four in the opponents' box.

Unfortunately we don't play in France.
-
It's not a matter of the quality of the players, it's the style of play. There are plenty of teams in much lower divisions who play with more spirit, verve and cohesion than I have seen all season.

You're not alone.
-
Good idea. We've got 30 days to get it sorted.

8.0 for artistic merit but only 4.9 for technical difficulty.
-
Why should we worry about Fonte leaving? He hardly ever gets a game anyway.
-
We don't play with any style, and that is the problem.
-
He was hardly touched. I'm assuming we're referring to the Brian Phelps imitation along the touch line in front of the Kingsland?
-
No I don't. That first half was depressingly dismal. One ball got driven right across the West Brom box and they had seven players in there. We had none.

Nothing today was Forster's fault. Find another scapegoat.
-
I've realised today that he can't run with the ball and pick out a pass at the same time. He has to stop and by that time the opposition has regrouped.
-
We couldn't afford to keep him and I'm sure we can't afford to buy him back.

Out, out thrice out. Not tomorrow perhaps, but surely we can't put up with another season of this dire football?

I don't post much these days but that aimless drivel out there today has made me very angry. Here are some well known sayings from English football in case our Clod (French pronunciation) doesn't know them: Always play your best team. Nothing beats a settled team. When you've just scored don't let the opposition get the ball. Defenders: don't let the ball bounce. The game usually goes to the team that wants it the most. This rotation is killing us. There is no understanding, purpose or cohesion. Most of the opposition seem to be a foot taller than our players and there always seems to be more of them on the pitch than ours. To make things even less fair they run about more and pass the ball to each other. Most of them can also run towards our goal taking the ball with them. There's a bloody great hole in the middle of the pitch where our midfield should be. All this is grossly unfair and shouldn't be allowed. Is it like this in French football?

There was no contact inside the penalty area. None whatsoever.

I am an ST with two domestic aways and I had an email from the club this morning saying that I was eligible for a ticket to Anfield. -
He's just realised that he can see right through one ear and out the other.

Why, thank you kind Sir My sentiments of the season are also extended to one and all.

Very interesting, many thanks for this. Incidentally, the station name of Bishopstoke was changed to Eastleigh because it had been causing confusion with Basingstoke.

And the referee holding one arm straight up indicating that it was an indirect free kick. -
You silly little boy. That is not a lie.

That is not our membership fee. We pay a discounted rate which is not £350m a week. We never have paid that and we never shall, unless we rejoin at some stage in the future. Why not make up some other figure like £10bn a day and then rebate that? It's exactly the same result.

Don't be so f***ing patronising. This is supposed to be a forum for adults. Give me one example of where I have lied and then when you can't find it I demand an apology.
