  1. I like the little seed germs between the two halves.
  2. I picked up an empty crisp packet outside the polling station this morning. Does that count?
  3. Roast monkey nuts please. Or giant peanuts.
  4. Ah, ok. I just remember at the time that it didn't go where anybody was expecting it and they just came rushing straight back at us.
  5. 1. As I remember it the ball got nowhere near their half. 2. I think you are. That was then and this is now.
  6. Me too. The tax credits system has totally distorted the labour market and changes must be made in stages. You can't pull the rug out suddenly from under their feet.
  7. I wonder if he'll be interested in my business? Every man has his price and they don't come much cheaper that me
  8. If we had been able to bring Long on for the last 20 minutes that might haven shaken them up a bit, alas. The papers I read gave him 5 out of 10, which I thought was generous.
  9. They were capable players but if an opposing team started to get on top of them they would resort to all sorts of dirty tricks to try and kill the game. But I do remember one midweek game against Sheffield Wednesday who beat them 2-1 and simply outplayed them with quick, passing football.
  10. They'll always be that. Dirty, nasty, spiteful team under Revie. Not a trace of sportsmanship to be found anywhere. The term 'beautiful game' never applied to Leeds.
  11. I know the feeling
  12. 'All things must come to pass' Matthew 24:6-8
  13. So your daughter has never known a Liverpool league title either?
  14. We can hope. I'm happy with Steks in the meantime providing he's fit.
  15. Schwarzer in goal would have been better still.
  16. He would have got it, it was nowhere near going in and Schmeichel got back to the line before the ball went over the bar.
  17. I agree but there's not a lot that can be done about it now, we just have to work with what we've got. The club gambled and lost. If it's just last Saturday then it's not the end of the world but a longer injury and things could get very sticky.
  18. Not at all, rather a lot of little bad choices on and off the pitch. 2-0 is always a dangerous lead and whoever gets the next goal is going to have the momentum with them. It was disappointing but in the end I was glad not to lose, which was sad.
  19. After last Saturday his confidence must have taken a big dent and I can't see that coming back for a long while.
  20. My feeling about Forster, and that's all that it is, is that going on other players who have had similar injuries we should not expect him to be back and fully match-fit in less than a 12 to 18 months. He was injured last March so that would make his return close to the end of the season by my reckoning. The club would have the full details on his injury but these things are prone to setbacks.
  21. You could try looking in here: http://www.premierleague.com/content/dam/premierleague/site-content/News/publications/handbooks/premier-league-handbook-2015-16.pdf
  22. Yup, absolutely. He deserves a big bollocking for that, and also for the ridiculous back-pass when he tried to set up their centre-forward.
  23. Not really sarcasm but I suspect that his 'performance' was a lot worse than the management might have expected. I agree, he was awful and when I saw that he was playing I was prepared for a couple of goals to go in down by his feet but not that he couldn't or wouldn't catch a ball that came within a few feet of him nor that he wouldn't be able to kick it beyond the halfway line. If he has been playing like that in training then putting him in the team was a disgrace. He was never the greatest of goalkeepers but last Saturday he looked as if he hadn't even touched a ball for a couple of years and had been brought in that morning from sitting in his back garden. I'm sure he wasn't this bad the last time that he played for us. When was that, by the way? I have enough faith in Ron to be confident that he will address this situation as soon as it is practicable.
