  1. It’s the antithesis of good football. In general, keep the ball as far away from your own goal as possible and as close as you can to your opponent’s.
  2. Oooooh. Interesting.
  3. Calm down Lucy.
  4. The “getting us promoted” bit is irrelevant to the argument. We know Martin and his preferred style of football, we know (and knew) that it doesn’t work in the Premier League, we know that he’s not going to change. He’s had eight games and he’s lucky to have had those. Appointing someone new is not a gamble if that person is properly researched. And there’s the rub.
  5. Works for me
  6. The money doesn’t come from the UK. The Premier League has become what it is because of the fare eastern monies.
  7. Because the football under Martin is shit. It is an effort to keep turning up to home games knowing that the enjoyment of the occasion is missing.
  8. Especially since it could lead to the end of a very promising career.
  9. I admire your optimism. I am convinced that this current system is not going to get us anywhere in this League. We might fluke a win but the feeling that I get from Saturday is that of a lower division team playing against one of the elites of this country in something like a cup game.
  10. Then it should be stamped out. And it will be. Literally. Constant battering of the shins damages the periosteum and leads to long term problems. Shin pads don’t have to be the sort that we old un’s remember from our childhood. There are plenty of lightweight designs that offer good protection without being restrictive.
  11. Personally I find Man City boring to watch. Everything happens so slowly.
  12. This is spot on. Why is it that we and the world can see this but our board and management are so blinkered? What are the supposed advantages, if indeed there are any? Above all else it is stupefyingly boring football.
  13. Proper shin pads would help.
  14. At the very least we could get more goals, points and self-respect.
  15. A right helmet.
  16. Exactly. If they’re not good enough to play his style then nobody would be. It’s the style that has to change not the players.
  17. Utterly isn't.
  18. Unbeaten is a long long way from winning. Nothing exciting about that run at all.
  19. Yep. To the rest of the League we're fresh meat.
  20. I don’t think he’ll ever learn. I don’t think he’s capable of learning. He’s been a manager long enough to have learnt what makes a good defence and there are no signs that he ever will. We cannot afford to have a Premier League novice in control of our football. Not to replace him now is an expensive mistake.
  21. And more than one up front.
  22. There is no equivalent in the centre.
  23. But we could play a lot better and try to be competitive.
  24. Is that actually legal?
