  1. How much would 'serious' be?
  2. It's full of outlet shops selling seconds and inferior products. My wife loves it ?
  3. The standard run to the Norwegian fjords tends to be in high summer, which is pretty useless for Northern lights. They have started to run Oriana up to Tromsø a couple of times in March which are specifically for the lights. For almost all other destinations Southampton is several hours steaming nearer which is very important in today's cruise world of slower speeds.
  4. Leaving the Euro and leaving the EC are separate issues.
  5. It does look a bit messy.
  6. I feel a bit like that too. To be honest, he seemed to be off his game for the last few months. Almost as though his head was somewhere else.
  7. British Racing Green, innit. Green as an unlucky colour applies to going to the theatre. Some suggestions say that it goes back to Molière who despite being very ill insisted on appearing in his play 'Le Malade Imaginaire' but died later that evening. He had been wearing green.
  8. I can recommend these people: https://www.panamas.co.uk They have a shop in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, with a very helpful pretty young lady
  9. Intelligent enough to get out of the country.
  10. But then it would be part of Britain and they would have reached their objective.
  11. The next one leaves in the morning
  12. No good. It doesn't show my seat
  13. There are plenty of fjords in Denmark.
  14. I would say 'seaport' rather than 'seaside', which has a rather sentimental meaning for the English invoking memories of buckets and spades, Punch and Judy, end-of-the-pier shows, that sort of thing.
  15. I don't think I've ever been to Deal.
  16. As the psychiatrist from Fawlty Towers might say: 'There's enough material here for an entire conference!'
  17. But if we broke the bank how could we afford the 3-4 players?
  18. You just haven't lived long enough. My family could tell you endless stories of poverty and suffering throughout the world, if they were still alive. They didn't create our society so that the rest of the world could benefit from it. There are over 7 billion people in the world. How many of them are you going to put up in your bed, feed in your kitchen?
  19. Desperate to get to Britain, not desperate to leave their home country. They would have been asphyxiated before the airplane had reached cruising altitude. It's happened many times before. Pleasant or not, such people have no place in my society.
  20. Good heavens, you do surprise me. Soon forgotten, wasn't it?
  21. A bit about him in The Times today. Basically, Chelsea are interested, we will take up the option of buying him for about £7m but Atletico will then take up their option to exercise a counter-clause and cancel our agreement by giving us £2m if he moves to another side. Atletico think he's worth upwards of £15m amid strong interest from Tottenham who are willing to offer the likes of Capoue and Soldado as part of the deal. Make of this what you will.
  22. Now now, Hypo, I'm sure you've got enough patients already without looking for more
  23. Is this another of those euphemisms with which I am not familiar?
  24. If you look at the reflections you can see a grubby leering old man.
