  1. I was told the Great Britain was the big island, the one on which I happen to live. Geographically all the rest are the British Isles, if not politically. Little Britain is now called Brittany.
  2. Most people use a racket.
  3. Grass
  4. Not necessarily. He doesn't say what 'she would love him to...'
  5. Can't you put your TV on a higher table or a couple of empty Horlicks boxes or something? I must agee, Rachel Riley is well worth getting up early for
  6. He might get it rammed down his throat.
  7. Their loss of revenue might eventually help to even things out a little, but it would take a few years. If we accept that we've as much chance of making third as fourth then I'm for it. How long before England would lose third place as well?
  8. As a Saints supporter you couldn't be richer.
  9. Would that be chicken feed?
  10. Yes indeed, but unfortunately we don't have anybody of his capabilities in the team.
  11. I've always liked Ramirez but there must be a reason that Ron doesn't pick him over JWP. It may just come down to who follows Ron's instructions to the letter, or it could be that as a former defender he prefers defence over attack.
  12. Thank you for expanding. Maybe Clasie can replace one of them.
  13. Is it possible to strangle anybody with a half and half scarf? In France it would be dismissed as a crime of passion.
  14. It's all very well saying who you wouldn't have, which two players would you put in their places? Anybody can be negative.
  15. Bogeymen
  16. It's no good building a railway station if there aren't any trains that go to it. I'm with you, walk or die.
  17. Amongst all these stats is there anything about the number of times 'we' hit the woodwork. A few of those going into the goal might have made a difference.
  18. Mata's was not that clear. The ball may actually have been touched by Rooney on it's way through to him.
  19. To be honest I didn't notice that but I tend to skim read anyway. At least I have an excuse what with my deteriating eyesight and decrepitude. That and my old age Irony: a bit like brassy but harder and not as bright.
  20. Fair enough JBS. So we both agree he was worth his place. I must admit I overlooked the significance of the bit about 'last Sunday'.
  21. Or ran out of apostrophes in his Letraset sheets? (remember those?). I see what you mean, that's the trouble with the internet and its forums, it's not real English and without all the winky, smiley thingies the true meaning can get lost. Some contributions need to be read out loud in order to get the true intentions of the poster and irony flies staight out of the Windows. If nothing else I have learned a new law today: Skitt's Law. Here are some more: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/news/6408927/Internet-rules-and-laws-the-top-10-from-Godwin-to-Poe.html I'm in two minds about Chelsea. One side of me says that they are there for the taking and that this is a good time to play them. The other reminds me that we are Saints and nothing ever seems to go as expected, even if I expect it to be like that.
  22. Er... not sure how to point this out but I think the Prof's was being deliberate. Maybe he should have written 'of' insead of of.
