  1. Which is why most managers sign players from their previous clubs.
  2. '**** me, there's two of them!' (With due respect to Mike & Bernie Winters)
  3. Eurovision, I presume? We don't want any Euro failures here, thank you very much.
  4. But as was pointed out in one newspaper with regard to the Sterling situation, by not signing an improved offer now the player is also missing out on several months of higher earnings. These may be recouped later but the player might get injured in the time that he's waiting.
  5. “Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee.”
  6. What he doesn't realise is when he is being made to look a tool himself. Sometimes it's like taking candy from a baby, you shouldn't do it but you just can't help yourself. The world would be a poorer place without his sort.
  7. Absolutely. I have no sympathy whatsoever.
  8. We're missing one important factor here. 'Clyne is the last piece in the jigsaw, with him we can push on to higher glory'. Or 'We are building a new dynasty' etc. etc. Maybe Clyne would have helped them finish even higher last season? I don't believe any of it but when owners, managers and players start getting delusions of grandeur they can sometimes be convinced of anything.
  9. Even Stoke fans don't care about Stoke.
  10. You've left a 'some' out somewhere.
  11. If they travel across continents then it's greed, not desperation.
  12. Pompey Madness. Has a nice ring to it.
  13. Nah, too thin.
  14. I suspect he's still a person of interest but any decision would depend on other possible acquisitions.
  15. Yes indeed, he seemed to grow in confidence and stature once he was made captain.
  16. They're correcting their mistake
  17. Or my conservatory with a couple of cans (That's not an invitation)
  18. The world is full of wonders.
  19. http://www.gov.uk gives these sorts of Bank Holidays as 'Christmas Day (substitute day)' or 'Boxing Day (substitute day)' Does it really matter what these Bank Holidays are called? Historically the 27th might have been called Boxing Day but the modern usage is to call the 26th December always as Boxing Day. Old farts might very well differ but they will eventually fade away and die out. It's what old farts do.
  20. Which raises the moral question: if by rescuing these people we encourage more to try their luck and there's no one there to save them, is there any responsibility for their safety?
  21. Juan down, more to come. Welcome to the club, together we can really go places
  22. In that case Liverpool might well go after Clyne.
