  1. The family were trying to get from Turkey to Greece: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34133210 Yet one more tragic and innocent victim of war and oppression and sadly he won't be the last. The root cause is in their homeland and that's where the problem needs to be tackled. Are the media right to show the photograph? I would say that it is neither proper nor necessary. This image will join the hundreds of thousands that have been taken over the last hundred years or so. When they lose the power to shock and affect us it will be a sad day but if that happens then they won't be shown.
  2. Hmm. 'It didn't affect me in any way' ? And when they refer to a 'nail-biting second leg' against Midtjylland then you know it's a load of horlicks.
  3. Cheers I really must get a new keyboard, or a new set of eyes. A brain would be too expensive.
  4. There's nothing irrational about fear of flying or hospitals.
  5. But then they'd be after Ronald.
  6. Of course not, he wasn't even playing FFS. Even if he had been we needed to score and we didn't. We were just awful. Abject. Dismal. Gutless...
  7. It wouldn't take just an injury to Kane, a loss of confidence would be enough and that seems to be his problem at the moment.
  8. That may not be the point. This might be a tactical offer.
  9. I think we came to the same conclusion about Antonio when his loan with us ended.
  10. I wouldn't call it central-ish but anything inside the M25 is getting stupidly expensive. I'll give it a couple of weeks and then try to find out what my Spurs-following relatives think about it all. I know that one of them would have preferred to give Sherwood longer.
  11. Steady on, that's going a bit too far.
  12. [ Conspiracy theories about De Gea : http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/david-de-gea-deal-sabotaged-6360491
  13. I never boo a player nor the team. I try not to groan when something goes wrong. I applaud politely when we score. I might even cheer occasionally. If Vic can accept his situation and knuckle down then I will be overjoyed.
  14. He cares passionately about the club but lives too far away to get involved in person.
  15. We paid 'reportedly £3m' according to Wiki.
  16. He is entitled to his views as much as any of us.
  17. And smells of rotten ham.
  18. Unless he unsettles every other team in the division and gets a competitive advantage.
  19. But for how long?
  20. To reduce their debts and wage bill?
  21. Unless I have confused BST and CET. From the BBC: The windows for most of Europe's top leagues close on 31 August, including Germany (18:00 BST), Italy (23:00) and France, Spain and the Netherlands (all at midnight). The passing of deadlines only affects the purchasing of players, meaning English sides can still buy from clubs in other countries until the window shuts in England.
  22. I never realised that different countries have different deadlines and the one in Spain has already closed. The deadline applies to buying players so we can still buy from Spain, for example, but they cannot buy from us.
