  1. Snippet from The Mail today: 'Cortese, who intends to return to St Mary's as chairman of another Barclays Premier League club, faces a massive compensation battle with Liebherr.'
  2. I tend to agree, the potential maximum for Leeds is greater than Southampton.
  3. Need you ask? I can't be fussy.
  4. If Cortese really is interested in buying the club and has access to someone then why would they go for Southampton FC? They would presumably have to pay the going rate and all the big gain in capital value has already been achieved. Wouldn't it make more sense to go for another club with the prospect of more added value? He's already done it once with Saints and would probably feel that he could do it again. Alternatively if the prospective new owner has ambitions of European football and mega bucks (which they would need) then couldn't they go for a more established club higher up the table?
  5. RIP Dave
  6. Whilst I have no immediate plans to enter football management, if my adoring supporters should decide that I would be ideally suited to the role then I might reluctantly be persuaded to step into the vacancy despite any misgivings that I might previously have held.
  7. Maybe he was owed an amount under an original agreement and wanted a lot more?
  8. Boredom would be good. There's a chinese curse: 'May you live in interesting times'.
  9. Er... I think that's why a lot of people are extremely worried.
  10. I think I tend to agree. He didn't get what he wanted (money) and stormed out in a hissy. Sod the stripes, sort out the car park charges first.
  11. Relax people. KL will come to our games and see the team in a new light. She will be swept up in the enormous wave of love and support that we fans will show for her in a way that could never have happened for Cortese and she will be converted to the true faith. After touring our wonderful city looking for a place of her own she will be captivated by the charms of the area and the warmth of the reception wherever she goes. She now has total control over the club and can steer us wherever she chooses without interference from that 'nasty little man'. Don't you see? It's all down to us. We can make that difference. What could go wrong?
  12. I have come to the conclusion that the Liebherrs are far, far more important to the club than any number of Corteses or Pochettinos, and from what I have read the Liebherrs are still here
  13. The general trend is upward but there will be ups and downs within that.
  14. I suppose the key question is why he left. Was it because there was a serious difference of opinion and he felt that his position here was untenable, or has he had a more attractive offer that was far too good to refuse?
  15. He was never going to be here long term. He's not from this area and presumably only took the position because of Markus. He has achieved what he set out to do and the club is in a very good state. Maybe he gets an offer fro Milan and decides he wants to be nearer his familiar surroundings? As an American once said to me: "Nobody's indispensable. Kennedy gets shot, we've got a new president in five minutes". With a business of this size this situation will have been prepared for.
  16. Do we know when that was arranged?
  17. Can he play left back or in goal? He's a professional footballer. He'll do exactly what he's told to do.
  18. What's Lowe doing at the moment?
  19. Exactly He's an employee, like any other.
  20. Skiing holiday. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2539563/Nicola-Cortese-close-quitting-Southampton-bust-owner-Katharina-Liebharr.html
  21. One of the first rules of business: If somebody is irreplaceable then get rid of them.
  22. If he's not playing and not likely to then why not?
