No, but Sharp is different player and would have been playing alongside Lambert. We are not going to get a player better than Lambert for his position IMO because then we're talking an established Premier League player, who first has to agree to drop down a division and secondly we're going to have to break the bank for, both in fee and wages.

I thought this too at first and taking what has been said literally, were only looking to sign better than we currently have. However, thinking about it again, maybe we are looking to cover RL (because that is Mellor's position, the out and out centre forward) and save him from having to play nearly 50 games again next season.

I don't think there will be a first choice pairing. I can see plenty of rotation between the four of them depending on opposition, formation and if playing home and away. The 1 or 2 that doesn't play will be on the bench and all 4 will probably end up with something like 35 appearances each.

I agree with this. If they sign a CB it will be a first choice player better than we have, with one of our established players (seeing all others have signed new contracts, probably Seaborne) being moved on.
