Bristol is easily large enough to support two decent sized football clubs. They've just had years of mismanagement and under investment (Rovers more than city). A bit of success and both could easily sustain fan bases of 20k plus.

David Chell joins Saints as chief commercial officer
krissyboy31 replied to Sevvy's topic in The Saints
TBF the commercial side of the club has been a bit of a shambles for the last couple of years (or certainly since Luker departed). Hopefully this new guy will get in and sort it out. -
Not seen Fox play yet (for us in the flesh) but I think it's noticeable (maybe a perception) that Lallana doesn't seem to get as involved as he does when linking with Harding.

My bad feeling was last night and that came to pass. I think this one will be a cake walk!

Completely different! Merseyside is still a county in England Whereas Humberside North and South reverted to ther original regions of East Riding of Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire nearly 20 years ago. Humberside is a radio station not an area and everybody up here is very hostile to it being used as such.

Well.I would have taken that at the start of the evening!

Didn't he score something like 7 in one match for Oldham?
-
Ian Wright didn't just score against us he got 2, 3 or 4 against us.

I'm well aware they're playing at Hull City on Saturday, just wondering where the fck is Humberside?

I know Alun Armstrong's character Brian Lane, nearly always wears an AFC Wimbledon shirt but unsure of a Midlands club link.

I see both sides of the argument TBH. Ex players and Ex managers shouldn't expect nor get free tickets because the club is a business and as has been said previously, we got into a right mess because of the amount of freeloaders around the club a few seasons ago. I know Cortese doesn't see eye to eye with MLT or McMenemy stemming from the time of the take-over. One way the club could solve this would be to introduce, as part of their end of season awards, a (Saints) lifetime achievement award with honorary life "membership" (only one per season, if that and it would only be open to the true legends of the club). Both MLT and McMenemy would surely qualify, along with the likes of Channon and Paine etc.

Too much money riding on results of sporting events now'r days to allow 'matter of fact' line decisions to be left to numpty officials.

Roke Manor developed it in Romsey and later a new company Hawkeye Innovations were set up in Winchester to market it.

No Ashes Cricket at The Rose Bowl, 2012, 2015
krissyboy31 replied to Colinjb's topic in General Sports
To be honest this argument is rubbish! The Rosebowl is approx 84 miles from Lords and The Oval. Trent Bridge is 53 miles from Edgbaston, 78 from Headingley and 85 from Old Trafford; Headingley is 53 miles from Old Trafford and 90 from The Riverside (or whatever it's called now). -

Saw the interview with Rod Bransgrove and he was absolutely gutted. I think it's an absolute joke tbh and Cardiff have got another FFS! -
He was! I did think that maybe the Championship might have been a step too far for him but he has certainly stepped it up a notch and the fact that he is keeping Spiderman and Chappers out of the starting line-up speaks volumes! Well deserved.

Cod no! We've got more sole than that.

No not a "v" more like a silent "l". Sort of Sulamtun.

Were we know as "Les Invisibles?"
-
Alright saying we want cheaper tickets but you can only reduce the tickets in agreement with the opposition.
-
Thought it was a good idea except we really dipped out on the players we chose.
-
I particularly like this quote from NA in his pre-match interview on the OS ""You need competition for places and we have that here. We aren't going to achieve what we want to achieve which is to get back to the upper echelons of the Premier League with just eleven players, you need a strong squad."

Unlikely I'll give you but NEVER? There's no way anybody could be confident in that.
