  1. No David Luker?!!
  2. On general sale on Monday. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2513534,00.html Am I reading this right that they all have to be picked up in person from the box office??
  3. Some would have turned up just because it was Man U (even at those prices) but I dare say the majority wanted to see how this current team/squad shaped up against the English champions.
  4. Good post Danish!
  5. I probably qualify as a plastic these days. I go to 5 or 6 home games a season (not based on who we are playing but when we are at home the weekends I'm able to get down). Now I could afford the £500 or so for a season ticket but I can't afford (or have no wish to) the £2k+ petrol bill for the season.
  6. To the fans it will always remain St James's so just because Sky and the media have to refer to it as the SDA and it'll have a sign to that affect outside, it won't make one iota of difference.
  7. But he didn't have the talent of a Silva or a Messi and compared to him had pretty average players around him. Messi by the way is probably smaller but (using your rugby analogy) would probably need a prop forward to knock him off his feet, whereas a scrum-half would probably do for Svensson.
  8. Thought it interesting in that I'm pretty sure Ashley is not going to keep ploughing money in at Newcastle, therefore the stadium naming rights are probably a way of writing off some of their debt to him. Wonder if Leibherr family would be looking to do something similar?
  9. Great player but just not really cut out for the physicality of the EPL. At times very good for us but in the main light weight in a pretty light weight midfield. You don't get 125 caps for a country of the calibre of Sweden without being a good, good player though.
  10. I think they were there until they rebuilt the Milton End in 1980, which added the second tier (family centre) to the western half.
  11. Yes. Wore an "Instant Arab" kit (tea towel and porno moustache) during Benali day away at Oldham, many moons ago also a Fez and Kazoo at Dellhurst Park.
  12. The Hull City fans at work are not completely devastated Pearson is going. They rate him and are generally disappointed but they do see him as defensive and they have real trouble creating chances and their goal scoring record is dreadful. Karl Robinson and Lee Clark have been mentioned but I can't see them getting either of those (certainly not Clark). One left of field I heard today was a Barmby/Windass dream team.
  13. Hoskins has been let out on loan to get first team experience, which he is not going to get here (now that we're out of the Carling Cup).
  14. ....and thousands (including me) locked out!
  15. There is no way this squad comes close to the early eighties one. IMO today's players would be also struggling to get into most of the 90's top flight squads. It's the best since Gordon Strachan's team disintegrated though!
  16. If you look on the Donny Rovers site they aren't even on sale to home fans yet. Only the England youth international and Watford games are available.
  17. Hate it!!! It's a two bob song sung by two bob clubs. Never sung by teams in the Premier League because it's a Football League song. Hopefully after this season I wont have to ever hear it again.
  18. I think the reason that we are so sympathetic is that we were them not so long ago and we could easily have gone down the SISU route.
  19. Do we have the "Flylights?" Never seen that on our OS.
  20. Guilty of all of the above! I am however a fair weather (sing if your winning) type. BM (before Markus) during the depression, I would avoid any football, footy reports or footy chat until about Thursday the following week and the pre-match build up of the next game.
  21. After yesterday, you've got to be joking!
  22. Not knowing much about him when he first signed was a little perplexed, as we had Harding with Dickson and Mills as back up at LB. Has turned out to be a top signing though and in the category "better than we currently have!" So refreshing after years of collecting players of similar or less ability than we had.
  23. I said the same after the Watford game. The first half was sh!t but second we were on a different planet. Now if we could play like that for 90 minutes then we would be a team!
  24. I think that if we are still in the top 2 by the start of the January window, NC and NA will strengthen with what they view as "next level players" (similar to what they did last season) One or two with a tad more pace and a tad more athleticism. It was no secret that we were looking to sign another striker in the summer but what was available was not seen as value for money. I reckon they could be aiming their sights higher than J-Rod and Maynard come January and prepared to pay big bucks for their targets.
