Oh and Cheltenham, although that was only in 2 pre-season friendlies. -

The fact that they are free makes them more difficult to get into. We use the "pay and display"s between Ascupart Street and Golden Grove (behind the shops and in front of Albion Towers) on a Saturday and it's not usually too difficult to get in but for evening games you get all the tight arses who won't pay for their parking using them because they're free.

I'm not saying that it's not difficult and SEEDA did do very little for Southampton compared with the North-West counterpart for Liverpool but they had proper foresight and planning to get the loans and investment from Brussels. Look at the debacle of the Ice Rink, the Conference Centre. Remember Canute's Pavillion? We had perfectly good warehouse buildings, similar to Albert Dock in the Queens Dock and they pulled them down to build that metal monstrosity, which lasted what? 10 years? Southampton has one of the most important art collections in the country (outside of London) but a sh!tty little gallery in the Civic Centre where they can show less than a 5th of it at any one time. I will defend Southampton at every opportunity because it is my home city but every thing that is built always takes years and always is half cock because of lack of funding or because the costs have rocketed because it takes years.

Couldn't agree more. Southampton is in the middle of a cruise war with Liverpool, crying foul that public money was spent in creating their terminal. I remember in the late 70's early 80's going to Liverpool and witnessing the biggest sh!thole I've ever seen but fast forward 25 years or so and it becomes European city of culture. Part of that was built on their unique music scene (Beatles etc) it's true but they spent fortunes redeveloping and renovating to become what is now a great city. We've got Ocean Village, they've got Albert Dock. Enough said.

Don't be silly!! But donating 1/2 Billion to stock the Monkey Chicken Petting Zoo, who could argue with that?

Passing has been abysmal in the 2nd half. Need some of Adkins coaching.

Richardson for me. Only player that really played well in the first half as well as the second. -
16 miles south-east along the M27 comes to mind.

I agree with this but that hardly makes it crap. It's certainly not the worst of the new stadia but not the best either. It is as good as we could have hoped for at the time, built by a PLC and not by a benefactor. Of course if we were building it now, it would all be different.

He was good in the Carribean but got a bit of a run-around by that Sparrow feller.

I don't think there is any doubt we could sustain a 40k stadium, maybe 42k but very doubtful anything bigger. Here's the crux! Would an extension of only 8-10k seats be worth the capital investment? I would suggest not.

Don't think they do! The announcement is on both screens and as soon as the announcer starts speaking he his drowned out with cat calls. I don't think I've ever heard a word.
-
I don't understand why they don't do what they do at the cricket and put big f-off speakers around the perimeter until they come up with a permanent solution. The PA has been sh!te from the day it was installed even Cowans acknowledged that. Saying that, most of the crap they put through the PA, I'm not fussed at not being able to hear.

Think they must have changed the rules since the Walcott/Bale days.

Saints V Watford.4- 0. Post match chat!!

From the Kingsland we couldn't see the what happened for the first pen, just that the ref said hands but Watford actually didn't argue the decision at all. They surrounded the ref at the 2nd pen decision and from where we were sitting that was cast iron. -
Wait to see whether the training kit has been delivered

Flash in the pan IMO!

Was going to say "just like watching Brazil" even though we weren't in the away kit. Thought we were pretty crap first half though! -
A quarter of the way there!
