  1. It actually brightened the atmosphere on the radio. Mark Bright commented on how quiet it was at St Mary's last night but he picked up on the Schteeve banter which got louder and louder as the game went on.
  2. That is a bloody good point!
  3. Can't see us "nilling" them to be honest. Could be a draw but more likely 3-3 than 0-0. However, if the defence play like they did Saturday, we should win the game.
  4. Surprised by people saying that Boro were poor. Thought some of their passing, first touch and general football was decent. They just didn't have (or weren't allowed to) any penetration.
  5. suspected Chaplow would win it (unbelievable workrate) but surprised how far ahead of everyone else he is. I voted Lambert who was just immense but I'm sure there's a few on here who think he was crap because he didn't score.
  6. reminds me of the "Benali, Pastrami" chant.
  7. What a crap allocation. We'd have taken that if we were bottom of the league, let alone top.
  8. Was Hammond's suspension played out last night?
  9. So is Arsene Wenger!
  10. I know he's been good recently but I didn't realise they'd renamed a stand after him!!
  11. Ah but apart from that, is he related to Jake?
  12. Nah! That tune was retired with Micky Channon.
  13. I think "In the middle of the park" would suffice and fit better!
  14. Chappers for me!
  15. Mediocre but not poor performance. Some praise needs to be given to Reading, their tactics and work-rate. They stopped us playing our game by pressing, pressing, pressing. Some poor performances mixed with some very good ones. Some posters are having a go at Cork but I thought he played okay. Guly to me was the weak link in midfield, thought he was terrible. Thought Fonte was poor before he went off and we looked a lot more solid once Martin came on. Have we ever had a fitter player than Chaplow plying for Saints. He was absolutely everywhere and deserved to score with one of his chances. I'm usually one of Kelvin's harshest critics but thought he was great today. Lambert had a quite game but then he had next to no service and De Ridder changed the game when he came on (helped by McAnuff going off). Great contribution and great goal. 4 points from the two games this week, I'll take that thanks very much!
  16. IIRC Graham was a Reading fan, who worked for several years. Openly said that the only time when he wouldn't be cheering on Saints was when they played Reading. Fair enough IMO!
  17. There was certainly around 10,000 (including me) locked out that night.
  18. It's MY performance of the week because I couldn't give a toss about any other game bar ours!
  19. Agreed! And surely it's a good thing, in as much that it means we are scoring goals. Rather have multiple goal music than no goals.
  20. It actually beat it by 1. I also was there v Arsenal but not tonight (unfortunately).
  21. There's only 5 points between 2nd and 14th positions and yet there is 5 points between 1st and 2nd.
  22. Didn't the FA say that when the PL was first formed? TBH The PL or the teams in it are more powerful than the FA and if they want it to happen, it will IMO.
  23. Don't think FIFA would pass this but I wouldn't go as far as "it'll never happen." Sports in other countries (and we're predominantly talking the US here) work on franchise licence, even the Rugby League Superleague over here.
