http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12196_5690948,00.html Apparently Sinfield to start at Hooker (with Wilkin on the bench) to allow Tony Smith to play 4 specialist props in his starting 13. I thought Lee Smith would have been recalled in place of either Shenton or Bridge at Centre.

I think it was more the fact that we weren't beating a great team this time. In 1995 we had to be at our very best to beat arguably the best team the world has ever seen and just about managed to get over the line. This year, for the vast majority of the series, we were outplayed by a pretty average side but managed to win more of the important sessions to win the series. If we had played like we did this year back in '95, that Aussie team would have wiped the floor with us.

Although I have Sky and love their cricket coverage, I have to agree with this post. Not all Cricket fans or fans of the future, has or can afford Sky and I think the Ashes, being a sporting institution should be available to all.

I'm not a great lover of the "rotation" systems that some of the foreign managers adopt but it does worry me a bit that certain players have to play every game (and in this league is a hell of a lot). We could do with a little more strength in depth, so when the likes of Hammond get's a knock, he doesn't have to play through an injury (like he has had to the last few games). As others say, if Lambert gets injured we will struggle.

Yeah but we were supposed to be signing Gerrard a couple of seasons ago and that didn't happen.

Bet he was over the moon with that!

We are 3rd bottom for a reason!! Lord Mal whingebag!!

Looked a lot more confident than the last time he played for us. The couple of games at Barnsley has obviously done him the world of good. Also, coming into a winning team with two/three centre halves winning everything in the air in front of him can do no harm.

I'll take Hereford. Might as well get the hard game out of the way first!

Winning games when we don't perform brilliantly

We weren't at our best but were sooo much better that Charlton and could and maybe should have won by 3 or 4. -
28th March!!! But I haven't been looking. :---)
-
There are two legged Southern and Northern finals and the winner of the Southern section, plays the winner of the Northern section (or Leeds).
-
I thought Lallana was different class!

As we all know, the table doesn't lie! :---)

At least we won after being a bit sloppy! Sign of a good team I reckon.

Lol at Lambert peeling away appealing for a Penalty when Thomas scored.

They're in the league above Eastleigh.

To be honest, it's not working! We have far too many professional clubs in this country for them all to continue to be financially viable. We very nearly went out of business in the summer and it was really only the fact that we are a "largish" city team with good fan-base and decent facilities that made us worth saving. In the next 10 years I can see certain clubs being in that position, who are not so lucky and the only way they will continue to exist, will be to go semi-professional or even amateur.
