  1. Just watching the highlights on Sky, they could/should have had a hatful in the first half as well!
  2. He does know Iain Dowie no longer plays for us, doesn't he?
  3. Quite acceptable in away Ashes test matches, where the "middle" is added and all 3 sing and "You're the Convicts, over there!" Otherwise I completely agree!
  4. That would have been handball, due to the fact James isn't French!
  5. Because some of the first XI are jaded, playing with knocks and illness and others, who will be needed over the next few months, need match practice (and not Mickey Mouse reserve league practice).
  6. Thought that was Mansfield but I agree you can't just play a "reserve" team and hope to get away with it. I do though, think some players can be rested and others given a run out.
  7. Our friends from the Blue Few are on a permanent buy nothing day atm.
  8. It's on Sky Player if you have SS subscription.
  9. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8353368.stm
  10. Should threaten to drop him every game, if that performance is his reaction.
  11. I would have thought he would have more chance of getting the work permit as a coach/manager (due to his past record). He has applied under the position of DoF, which in essence is a football administration job. The Home Office looking at this could quite rightly ask, why does any sporting establishment in this country need an administrator from outside the EU?
  12. Mine too!! And I thought my luck was in when Darren Bent and Stephen Ireland scored yesterday.
  13. Went from 1-0 to 6-1 in the space of 14 second-half minutes. You have to give it to Defoe though, he's some finisher.
  14. I could say the same about Olly Lancashire.......but wouldn't be able to keep a straight face!
  15. I don't think Trotman had a poor game yesterday (unlike Sunday, when he was pants). He made some errors which could have been costly but that was down to the conditions more than poor technique. Those were nightmare conditions for defenders, heavy sheeting rain, strong swirling wind and some minor waterlogging of the pitch. I thought most of the defenders actually dealt with the conditions surprisingly well but there is no doubt that they contributed to the hatful of chances both teams had.
  16. The penalty was a great save TBF but he should have either held the second or at least parried it away from the danger zone (probably the best option in the conditions). He also nearly managed to drop the next cross onto the strikers head, luckily managed to grab it first.
  17. Mellis can't play in the FA Cup.
  18. I think Murty should be given a full game (presumably he'll play some part at Hartlepool?). I'd also play Bialkowski in all the cup ties. Did well against Charlton and needs the match practise. Thomas has to play because Trotman can't and maybe give Papa a full game also.
  19. Why doesn't he tell the truth and just say he doesn't want to sign for such a sh!t club.
  20. Can't understand the doom and gloom on this forum. Absolutely fantastic match played in atrocious conditions between two teams unrecognisable from the dross representing the two clubs, last season. Yes, disappointed to drop two points after being ahead twice and think Davis should have done better for the second but Norwich were the best side we've played this season and we more than matched them.
  21. Good job he didin't write her a letter.
  22. I shall be there as usual! At least this season it doesn't clash with the last game of the football league season. C'mon you 'Ull!!
  23. You could look at it the other way round though! With the World Cup, they may be able to get private sector/outside investors to stump up the money that they should be, thus getting all these (thus far) pie in the sky schemes under way, with little or no outlay from them.
  24. Could try the Joshua Tree (ex Coopers) on Millbank Street. Quite handy for the away section!
  25. But that's just their usual cop out! Football has never been the same at grass roots level as it is at international levels. FFS we can't get consistency of decisions made in the same match by the same referee. As you say most Sunday morning football has the substitutes running the line, having no decision powers apart from (a biased opinion of) offside. The FA should never of relinquished law making to FIFA, they've pretty much destroyed the game over the years. At least the MCC still has control of the cricketing rulebook.
