  1. This ref is an absolute disgrace!
  2. http://bfst.to/play/soccer.php
  3. Oh my word. Yan Valery - take a bow son!
  4. No, I'm not. I'm simply asking a question. We seem to be in agreement that the two situations are essentially the same and should be treated as such. But for whatever reason they're not, and I'm curious as to why that should be the case. No, I don't approve of the idea that any particular ethnic community should be singled out to prove their humanity in this way. I think that anybody with any humanity should be appalled at the treatment of the Palestinians by the state of Israel, regardless of ethnicity or religious beliefs. But the relationship between Israel and the Jewish community is completely unique in the world, and it is easy to see why some people may be of the belief that Jews have more of a moral responsibility to hold Israel to account for their crimes than anyone else. I'm not saying I agree with it. What this Hatton guys said in his tweet can clearly be interpreted as Antisemitic, just as anyone calling for Islamic groups to disown and condemn Jihadis can be said to be Islamophobic. But why, when the latter happens, do we not see howls from the press that it is proof of institutional racism in their party?
  5. That would be my posting history which shows that I have explained time and time again that my political beliefs should naturally draw me towards Labour, but that for numerous reasons I have never felt able to fully support them, either in the past or the present. You're just making a fool of yourself.
  6. I rest my case.
  7. Thus proving that you, like Batman, only see what you want to see in my posts. I'm really f*cking bored of having to explain it now so I'm not going to bother again.
  8. Why do you keep singling me out for comment? I have made it clear time and time again I'm not a huge fan of his, but you just can't take it in can you. As far as you're concerned I'm a 'lefty' therefore I must be a Corbynista. Just another example of your constant strawmanning.
  9. How is that any different from politicians making public calls for the entire Islamic community to speak out against and/or take responsibility for the actions of ISIS or Al-Qaeda? And how many of them have ever been suspended from their parties as a result?
  10. A word of advice Angela - if you are going to quit your party citing racism, it's probably best not to then go and display outright racism when invited onto a national TV show to discuss it. https://twitter.com/evolvepolitics/status/1097484510676029440
  11. Pretty 'Meh' to it to be honest. It's hardly surprising. Not really had much of a chance to watch/read all about it yet but I caught the headlines yesterday. Reading through the comments on here I've actually found myself in general agreement with most of them. While I have a modicum of respect for Corbyn and his policies, it's obvious he's not a leader and he has too much baggage to ever be electable. He is really no more than an activist and a decent campaigner who never expected to be catapulted to the leadership. He has never been able to unite the party during a time when pretty much anybody else would have been able to wipe the floor with the hopeless May and her pathetic excuse for a government. I think Labour needs to split really. There are two opposing camps within it that will never be able to reconcile their differences. But the problem, as so many have already pointed out, is that all the time we still have the FPTP system, each faction will be too scared of ever going it alone because they would undoubtedly get obliterated at a GE. Our entire political system is broken beyond repair, and it's high time we had a drastic modernisation of it all.
  12. True, it's obvious to anyone that's what she is doing. But an actual admission of this strategy by a cabinet minister to a senior BBC journalist is surely big news that shouldn't be suppressed?
  13. https://twitter.com/maitlis/status/1095283424229765120 Which begs the question Emily... As a senior BBC journalist, why have you waited nearly two months to reveal this information?
  14. That's season 3 that was aired last year. There's still no release date for season 4 and it seems they have only just wrapped production, so it will be a while yet I imagine.
  15. My thoughts exactly.
  16. Wouldn't, or couldn't?
  17. Yes, it's absolutely baffling why the manager chose not to select a player who we sold to Sampdoria a few weeks ago.
  18. I do now you mention it. I grew up near there, but I had no idea who Chope was when I was at school. Was it on the train bridge near the Station? *Quote removed by mod*
  19. If anyone is tempted to give this a go, don't bother. It looks great, but the writing and acting are truly dreadful and I gave up after about 5 episodes. None of the characters are in the least bit interesting or believable, and I don't care what happens to them.
  20. All of which is completely irrelevant if Fraser himself has agreed to a reduced wage, which is what is being suggested by some people. But your suggestion that it would be illegal to reduce someone's wages just for being ill is just plain wrong. It all depends on the contract terms of course, and in most cases outside of the football bubble it is completely normal.
  21. I know footballers exist in a bubble outside the normal rules of employment, but it's extremely irregular for anybody to get indefinite sick pay in any job. If I went off on long term sick from my job (for something mental health-related, for instance), I would get sick pay only for up to 6 months and then after that I would only get statutory sick pay, which is just a fraction of my actual salary. We just don't know what Fraser's contract contains, but I would expect there is something in there about making himself available to train and play provided he is physically fit enough to do so.
  22. If he's had surgery and has been unable to train at all for 2-3 months, then he's not going to get back to the required level of fitness in just 3 weeks.

    Yoshida

And you're ignoring the fact that he has always improved significantly following a sustained run in the team, and that he was just coming into really good form for us before going off to the Asian Cup. He is a far better option than JS at the moment.
  24. Yes, you're right. We should have, and we tried to. And if we had done, then maybe we wouldn't have had to play JWP there on Saturday, but the RB situation is what it is, whether we like it or not. So I'll ask you again - who would you have had at CM instead of Slattery, given the players available for that position?
