i was stood in the Fratton end with a skate mate from Uni and his dad...they were not pleased having to look at my smug face on way home and in his dad's local.

I was on a train coming back from Liverpool to London after the saints match last month. The train was paced with plastic scousers. All bigging up Liverpool and talking about they will do this, do that and sign such n such..........they genuinely still believe they are the great 1980's side.

Their claim to Charles Dickens always makes me laugh....yes he was born there but left when he was three years old, apparently never to return and who can blame him..........Portsmouth was obviously permanently etched into his young memory to be able to describe the squalor of Victorian England so well.
