You can still by a parker down on Carnaby Street and I'm sure there will be loads of old scooters at your local scrap yard!

I haven't been for years but Lindos must be at or near the top of anyones agenda. Great little town with horseshoe shaped cove and beach plus an acropolis at the top of the hill. Great to climb on a donkey to ride up there.

Are you Corp Ho in disguise .... have you been secretly meeting him every couple of weeks to keep him up to speed on this fred? We all know Corp bottled it once even he realised the writing was on the wall with Saints up and Skates down.

Nice piece on Mail on-line about AOC. especially like the caption under his photo in saints shirt: 'Talent school: Oxlade-Chamberlain is another recruit of SOUTHAMPTON'S FAMOUS ACADEMY'

Yes I agree, he show be explaining why they are not going up by more, the price rises are far too reasonable.

Relegation 2005: Did Pompey throw the West Brom game?
the colonel replied to Armchair's topic in The Saints
I seem to remember (unless memory playing tricks on me) that West Brom played Man utd the week before we did and the Manure side was more than just a bit on the weaker side that the one that faced us the following week. Manure had nothing to play for and put their strongest side out against us. Of course nothing to with WBA manager being Brian Robson. -
MLT's son took a penalty. Ian Wright moved it closer to the goal for him and without any coaxing he picked up and put it back on the spot. Ian Wright almost wet himself. Was a great night.

Pikey123 How about this for a FACT that you cannot dispute: pompey league 1 V SAINTS minimum 1 league above you.....now that is the only fact that matters.

The South Stand Riverside Stadium!!! -
good luck. I was there three weeks ago. Great country and people. Don't wish to put a downer on your trip but be prepared it is very expensive. Admittedly I wasn't travelling on a budget, but I found generally costs were about 20 percent higher than central London (which is where I live). Exchange rate was about $1.46 when I was there compared with $2.50 a couple years or so ago. You will have a fantastic time I was there for a month which wasn't anywhere near long enough.

Gut feeling he won't be playing on Saturday....really hope I'm wrong

I'll say it again. We will not finish in the top 2!
the colonel replied to Cestrian Saint's topic in The Saints
i take it you are dragging up old post like this and at least one other I've seen because you want people to now "look at me" and to see you as being so cleaver at slagging off others views because now you have the hind sight to show they were wrong....pathetic. -
the fire drill chant was funny a couple of seasons ago but not just sad

You forget that this is not unique to Skates. A lot of small grounds are known for their noisy atmosphere. Typical example was the Dell. The media were always going on about the Dell, the atmosphere and the affect it had on the big clubs, our record against the top clubs was quite good. It was often quoted in the media that one of the reasons for our longevity in the top league was down to the Dell. Also speak to players of that era and many hated coming to the Dell because of the intense atmosphere and closeness of the fans. So don't get excited by your own hype.

What league title win i the 1920s? or are you referring to their back to back title wins of 1948 and 1949. Need to get these facts right as well. or they will shiitte over you. You could quote Saints Southern league Champions for 1897 1898 1899 1901 1903 1904 Pompey won it 1902 and 1920. So when things were all even there was only one obvious club on the south coast. plus we made two FACup finals in 1900 and 1902. The Southern League is over looked by history but it was an important league and Saints had signed players for the football league and were the top southern league team. The football league only consisted of the northern clubs plus arsenal. So you could argue we have 6 titles against their 4 !?! Or am I clutching at straws.

Touchy! As a kid I walked under it when it was being built. Had a look round the yard before leaving school because I was thinking of going into naval architecture. But I didn't work it on so who cares.
