Very good result and one we probably didn't really deserve. First half we dominated most of the play and scored 2 decent goals, but I put their goals down to poor communication at the back. They were both identical and I have to question the switching of Richardson and Cork, something which I feel led to our lack of dominance in the center of the park. Second half we were all over the show to begin with and not until the third went in did we actually start to control the play. Forest were big threats when going forward and we somehow kept out 2/3 goal bound efforts from within the penalty box. Kelvin made a cracking save from a free-kick, followed by some idiotic play which saw him tangling with Matt Derybshire to get the ball back. I don't understand him sometimes. Overall, beating Forest is excellent as they will be up there again at the end of the season, however, Cork should return to his roll of dominating the middle of the pitch and the defence need to work on their organisation. I thought at times Danny Fox did very well to regain possession or intercept play, but on several occasions he just went AWOL and was nowhere near tight enough to the player running down the left flank. Lambert was great, Guly ran his socks off and we've got yet another 3 points. Up the Saints!

Home! One hell of a long day but, of course, worth it in the end. I thought for 90% of the game we were incredibly comfortable and a second goal would have ended the game, no doubt. Chaplow was sent off and we sort of accepted that Barnsley would attack, attack, attack and so we dug deep and repelled the lot. Had resigned myself to an equaliser with the crazy head-tennis and scrambles that occurred in stoppage time. Lallana was great, but for me Jack Cork was the star of the show. He ran the midfield for both attack and defence and played plenty of sublime balls. Despite one slip-up near the end Richardson was absolutely solid throughout and had his best game in a Saints shirt. I can see him becoming our regular RB. Kelvin had a fairly quiet game but was there when needed and his distribution seemed to be much improved today. De Ridder looked sharp as a knife when he came on and will produce great things when he gets a league start. Guly was Guly - He blew hot and cold throughout. IMO he should play CAM/CF or not at all. Right midfield should be given to a right midfielder. Overall it was a very good performance and we are certainly developing the 'Southampton Way'. Think I saw the away attendance at 1,134 and we made some good noise. Football League Show and bed.

To be fair with regards to the £5m, most Burnley fans think he's worth far more and he's only 22. Looks like a cracking prospect.
