Is Cortese deliberately trying to annoy the fans.

Is that happening, really? I find that quite interesting if true - care to elaborate (or even enlighten me by PM). -
Seems to be a very strange move on first sight, althought I tend to sit with Alps on this one, I don't think that Milan is the most (how shall we say) sympathetic or understanding employer. Still wish NP well though - future England manager anybody..???

Stu - he hasn't made any good decissions for the club. I told you in my last post - we all agree with you that NC has absolutely shocking PR skills - the point being - we don't really care as we like the way the club is unfolding, the state of our squad and the ambition of our manager, CE and owner. Therefore when there is the odd decission that we don't like, we do not feel the need to 'bear arms' in order to highlight it. My head is well above the parapit (as are lots of others if you care to adjust your sights), unlike you, we just don't see it as a 'BIG ISSUE'. Others have advised you, don't like the product, don't buy it - it's that simple. As for the arugument that there will be thousands and thousands not buying the 'SMS Product' - let's wait and see eh. As CW pointed out 2 years down the line we might all be whinging - but whose to say that those at the club wont have learned from the feedback that they have recieved from fans this season and change and reinstate certain services for next - give these guys a chance ffs. The majority of decissions that this man makes for this club are probably totally undisclosed to us anyway - I have no idea of the business decissions that he takes on a day to day basis. We had a good season last season, a trip to Wembly and last year I had not felt as good about the club for years - that tells me that NC is making more right than wrong decissions. That is decission enough for me. Analyse all the negativity that you want - do your stats, visit every other clubs website in order to prove everybody else wrong, bash you drum until your knuckles hurt - NC is making more good calls than bad ones. Heres one pro Cortese person with head and shoulders above the parapit. -

We accept that it is a genuine issue, but we are not the ones crying over it. Neither is anybody suggesting that Cortese is untouchable, his decissions will be scrutinized - but unlike Stu, we have scrutinized them (and whilst we may not particularly like the decissions) we have accepted them because they may be for the good and benefit of the club. Yes they are genuine issues, although relatively minor - thus we don't feel the need to try to vilify a man who not so very long ago was the clubs saviour. BTW if you are going to use such terms as 'discuss in rational manner' in your posts, it is probably not a good idea to use such terms as 'crying like a bunch of babies' - surely somewhat contradictory. Many thanks for referring to me as a pleb as well - does the argument no end of good. -

Stu - I think you have made your point. NC's PR skills are non existant, absolutely poo - we all agree with you. Problem is though, most of us don't really care - we like what he has done for the club since he began, we like the direction we are headed and we believe he is doing what he does for the good and benefit of the club. So there you have it. You are correct - we have a Chairman who lacks PR skills. Other than that though - it would appear that most here appear to back his judgement and business decissions thus far. Give up - find another slave to flog huh. -

Stu, I am at a loss as to why you want to bait the whole forum into discrediting NC. You've made your point about the 'ticket tax', 'echo' and 'HSTs', but why now bait everybody else to defend NC. As I pointed out - the best positive that we could have had was NC's interest in this club when it was on it's knees and looking into the abyss. If we have to give a little more in order to reach the 'places we want to go' then, as far as I am concerned, so be it. I just can't understand your continual 'war' against the man - besides - if you don't like the product, dont buy it, simple really. Do you want NC and ML to leave the club, and we start all over again? Staggered. -

Hate it? Really - nahhhh you love it, go on, feeeeeel the satisfaction of being right - get a right smug grin on your face as you sit there typing. While you're there though, best do a prediction of how 'things will only get worse' as well - you can save that one up for another day. Can you also tell me 'the sort of person we are dealing with' as well please, because not too many months ago, when we were up to our necks in deep smelly stuff it appeared to me that most fans were ready to bite this guys hand (of friendship) off. Absolutely bemused by the cr@p being handed out here, yes we are a little more expensive than your average L1 team, do we possibly have one of (if not the) best set of players in the league - thus they cost a little more. Check out Man Utd, Chelseas prices and then check out Blackburn, Stoke etc - same sort of pricing policy...! It is very easy to analyse the negatives - try doing the same with some of the positives that this guy has done for our club - start with when he more or less picked us up outta the bin, remember that? PS - Are you 19C in disguise by any chance? -

They have done it for years, people may well argue that the Bundesliga is nowhere near as good as the Premiership. I would agree that perhaps it does not quite come up to standard of some premiership games, but the gulf is not as wide as some people would suggest. The same said league is also now the most profitable league in the world as well, and it seems to be doing their National team absolutely no harm whatsoever. The bottom line is we are too far up our own asses and don't realise that English players are not the 'be all and end all' that many would like to make out. Just look at our famous 5 -1 defeat of the Germans before the 2002 WC, what a farce that was. Within 2 days, we had the 5 - 1 banners, the t shirts, the dvds were all on sale - Super England, beat the Germans 5 - 1. Same said tournament, we went out in the quarter finals - the Germans, ohhh they got to the final. Never mind vuvuzellas (or whatever they are called) - we are too good at blowing our own trumpet - but not delivering - we could learn an awful lot from both German domestic and National football. -

I thought that the FA's plan was to 'groom' Stuart Pearce for the full England Managers job. As I understood it - this is why he shadows Capello at all of the England matches, or did I get that completely wrong as well...? Saints connections - it will probably be 'arry (so long as he manages to sweet talk the judge and maintain his freedom!). Failing that, just to wind up 19c - I say get Lawrie out of retirement and let's revert to some 'old school' ways, this pampered lot of Prima Donnas need a good taste of reality coupled with a good kick up the arse - Lawrie macs the man..! -
Thanks Bob have just changed the editor to enhanced, am typing like the clappers and it appears to be keeping up with me...! For now, problem solved - thanks for your help mate - appreciate it.

I actually don't like the new forum either. I don't know what it's like for other posters but my text entry is literally 4 or 5* words behind every time I type - which frankly is pants. On the up side for you lot, though, all this means is that I probably wont post so much...! I also don't like the banner, or the new colour scheme either - so for me it's a backward step. All of that said, if you look around the sight it is so much more than just a forum (*I was 15 words in front then...!), and offers podcasts, blogs a prediction league and tons more beside. No I hate the look of it, but I would actually probably be prepared to pay more to use it. Good VFM as far as I am concerned - thanks to the guys for giving up their time to 'make it so'.

I would love to rate the players but it is hardly worth the effort - nobody would achieve over 3, we were that bad over the whole of the tounament.

Absolutely horrendous display. If you are a professional footballer and can't 'get up' for a world cup match against our fiercest rivals, then you shouldn't be wearing the jersey. We appear to have lots of players who can (and do) 'talk the talk' to the media leading up to games, but very few who can actually back it by 'walking the walk'. If an under 14's team had given such a display I would have ripped into them for thier naivety and lack of basic skills - this was our National Team FFS. It got to the point where it was so bad it was comical, absolutely hilairious. I have never seen such inept passing, tackling, shooting or management all rolled into one game. WTF was Wayne Rooney doing - he couldn't trap a bag of cement, was slow uninterested and generally couldn't give a toss - and he has the audacity to slag the fans. Over the course of the tournament he has to be our worst player - shyte. 4 - 1 down, needing a goal scoring miracle to descend, and Fabio turns to none other than that prolific striker Mr Emile Heskey. Please somebody, remind me of his stats, how many and when was the last time he scored a single goal for his country let alone 3? I used to be teatotal - I'm off to buy a bottle of scotch - that was embarrassingly painful. Edit: Heskeys England stats, not good reading when you are lookin for goals! National team Season Apps Goals England 1998–99 2 0 1999–2000 7 1 2000–01 7 1 2001–02 13 2 2002–03 5 1 2003–04 9 0 2007–08 2 0 2008–09 8 2 2009–10 9 0 Total 62 7

What Alpine said - at least thier red and white shirts were sweat soiled. Our Prima Donnas need a good old kick up the jacksie - to a man, we were friggin woeful from start to finish in this competition. Embarrassed to be an Englishman, and I have to visit Germany for two weeks next week - f u k i n great...!
-
Even if he had spent months and months telling us that we should have goal line technology, Adrian Durham would still be a grade 'a' c*ck.
-
Oh right, thanks. So your opinion of me is formed totally on what you have read here, on an internet forum. Your opinion is relevant and valid. Those people who don't care about the sentences handed down to these hooligans, how do you think thier opinions were formed?
-
Sorry, please explain. Do we know each other?
-
Actually I think that most of the posters do recognise this point, but the fact of the matter is, we don't care. The punishment may indeed seem disproportionate to the crime when viewed alongside 'the norm', but if this acts as any sort of a deterrent to future perpetrators, then I welcome such a stance for all crime. Yes the police could have done things differently, perhaps if you want to know why they didn't, a polite letter to Hampshire Chief Constable might unearth a more informed reason than the speculation contained here.

I take it you are the 'Forum Stalker', do you need help? Your persistent harrassing of TDD is more than a little tedious to read over multiple threads. If you have a problem with him, why not PM him and try and sort it out as opposed to hi-jacking 3 threads with the sole purpose of baiting him. Are you yoof, just looking for a bundle - if so - it's after midnight and you probably have school in the morning.
-
What's Facebook?
-
Sorry, but this made me laugh - do you honestly believe any of what you wrote...?
-
That made me LOL - I like your style sir, very good (for a skate...!).
-
'kinell TDD, nothing like stating the bleeding obvious. They have been a pile of shyte upto now (and I include the USA game in that too), now they have one game to play in order to bail thier sorry asses out. I actually hope they do play a blinder and then go on to do well in the rest of the tournament. That said - if they crash and burn on wednesday - then I think it's time that English football took a long hard look in the mirror to see wtf is going wrong...
-
Ahhh so you agree - they are responsible and they do deserve to be punished - we stand together then. The bottom line is we are all solely responsible for our own actions. Most chose not to get involved - some did and now have to pay the price. The fact that Stu may think that the punishment does not fit the crime or that the old bill are also somehow to blame is neither here nor there. Once again - no 'rhetoric' as you put it - simple common sence - do I want to get nicked ? Nah - I'll p iss off home then. It aint rocket science, and if would have saved many of them a whole heap of trouble now. Boring day at the office - yep, shure was, s hagshyte on tv too, so I f ucked off to TSW - hope you enjoyed the common sense...!
