  1. Well Phil, you had a much more enjoyable and productive night than the rest of us did. Karaoke = wannabe pop stars, 'Rooney, Heskey, Lampard et el' = wannabe footballers. We're doooomed I tell ya.....
  2. Irrespective of opinion that is posted here (whether it be 'expert' or just purely specualtory), the fact remains that your club is, and has been for some time, a shambolic mess. You have ridden this wave on the good nature of those that were owed money. Local businesses and charities were ripped off in order that they club could enjoy some modicum of success. If you are comfortable with the fact that your club sees fit to rip off it's creditors to the point of going int administration for what, the second time in a decade, then you are a very worthy fan. Where will you be in 8, 9 or 10 years from now? Still cheating...?
  3. Errrr that is precisely the problem - if we can't mix it with these guys can you imagine the mullering we'd get from the form teams...!
  4. Well following the USA game it was good to see that Rooney backed up all his 'posturing' in the press about 'now is the time to deliver', 'the players are raring to go' etc, etc with a really world class performance. Aaahhhhh maybe not then. You would have thought by now that we would have learned to stay 'low profile' when it comes to major tournaments. I know that we English like to think that we are the best at everything, but the reality is we are pretty mediocre. Personally I'm soooo pleased that we played Algeria tonight - it could have been Brazil or Argentina, and that would have been embarrasing. I think the kindest thing now would be to go out with a wimper in the final game - it could actually turn out to be a blessing in disquise, let's face it, we really don't want this shower of shyte coming up against the 'big guns', we would get slaughtered.

    Old Fords

Strange that you should mention this - I have noticed this, not so much with Escorts, but certainly very prevalent with Mondeo's. The back bumper always seems to be damaged, - if you look at the shape of the bumper it looks sort of 1/2 oval, and Im wondering if a lot of them damage is caused simply by 'drag' as the car is driven. I see so many Mondeos with this sort of damage - I'm convinced that it's a design flaw. Anybody know any more ?
  6. I thought they played pretty well considering. Can't fault the work rate and effort at all, and to be fair, although it's not what fans come to see, their defending was damn good. If they had held out a little longer, and with a little more conviction, who knows what might have happened. That said though, Brazil probably had another gear yet - decent game though.
  7. Shame, I thought he was ok as a pundit too. http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/World-Cup-2010-Robbie-Earle-Defends-Himself-After-Being-Sacked-By-ITV-Holland-v-Denmark-Tickets/Article/201006315649566?lpos=UK_News_News_Your_Way_Region_6&lid=NewsYourWay_ARTICLE_15649566_World_Cup_2010%3A_Robbie_Earle_Defends_Himself_After_Being_Sacked_By_ITV%3A_Holland_v_Denmark_Tickets
  8. Totally agree - the last forum was a 'signature' forum amongst all others, a bench mark for all other forums to aspire to. We appear to have just joined the faceless masses of, not only football forums, but any old forum. As others have pointed out as well, even the most basic function - text entry - is slow laborious and downright annoying. I for one am hoping that this forum goes the way of the first TB statue and we return to 'normality' before seasons start. Really appreciate all the work that the mods and admins have put into the site thus far, and have absolutely no problem with the subscription, but sorry - this is a (large) step backwards IMHO.
  9. Thought that this was quite interesting: http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/World-News/Army-Recruits-In-Australia-Earn-Nearly-Twice-As-Much-As-British-Army-Counterpart/Article/201006215648710?lpos=World_News_First_Home_Page_Feature_Teaser_Region_0&lid=ARTICLE_15648710_Army_Recruits_In_Australia_Earn_Nearly_Twice_As_Much_As_British_Army_Counterpart Our guys have just had thier operational pay doubled, but in the grand scheme of things it is nothing but a pittance compared with what the Oz are paying their forces. Disgraceful.
  10. Can't disagree with anything that you say there. It would appear that the 'goalposts' were moved by some considerable degree in terms of the size of the banner, which is a little disappointing as this was raised while people were submitting ideas. Absolutely hate the font, you're right, I too have seen that German Porn Vid...! All of that said - I do actually like the concept of the banner - it's just the execution that I don't like.
  11. I no like, but I'm old and grumpy, can't stand change....
  12. Luckily, I am currently in Germany at the moment and have absolutely no idea what our commentator is bloody saying....!
  13. Goal worthy of starting the biggest competition in the world - great strike.
  14. I can't see any point for a poll on this one personally.

  16. I love this program, never miss an episode. Particularly love the bits where they show people sleeping in bed through (what appears to be) night vision goggles. Must see TV, never to be missed....!
  17. FFS, give the guy a break, hundreds of other posters do this every other week on the post match thread...!
  18. 'angim...!
  19. No big deal - they probably got it from here....
  20. Geeze - Corpey needs 'checkin' in' don't he...?
  21. Are you deaf...? They said the image should feature all or some part of the crest, not breast you fool...!!! That said - I quite like it..!
  22. Controversial - but true.
  23. There appears to be some very fickle and insecure people on here. Does it really matter what Markus Liebherrs financial status is. He might be a billionairre, maybe just a millionairre, who knows, perhaps just a wealthy man. Does it really matter? It's not the size of his wealth that is important - it's the prudency with which he runs the club. I'm fairly sure that (irrespective of his overall personal wealth) the club will be running to some sort of budget, and it will not be a bottomless pit. Therefore his personal wealth really is unimportant. No, we don't want some JCL without two farthing to rub togeather running the show, but I think, on the evidence of his investment in his first year, he is hardly that. You do not run the MALI group of companies by ****ing money up against the wall, he is obviously well versed in good business practice - so forget his wallet ffs, it's only part of the package. Not so very long ago all of SMS was singing ML name in celebration, now here we are questioning his financial standing. Fickle - not us.

    Cortese V Lowe

Thats fine but not a lot of good to others if he is unable to share it.
  25. And therein lies the root of the problem, the reason that all right minded fans are looking at PFC now and seeing a pile of dogs shyte. Yes - we did try to pull a fast one, yes we got caught, yes we put our hands up and admitted the guilt, yes we then unloaded a whole host of our best players to right the wrong, and yes we took our bitter medicine and payed a heavy price. By so doing we have regained a little of our self respect and have a brighter future. Not only did you 'pull a fast one', you are still pulling it and getting away with it, effectively sticking 2 fingers up at the establishment and saying that you couldn't give a toss. Your debts are astronomical because you employed players that you patently could not afford. You cheated every single team you played, you now want to right that wrong by way of a CVA amounting to a pitance over a protracted period of time - nice ethics, real nice. The whole situation is obscene for so many reasons - I don't want you to 'die', I don't want you to even go out of business, couldn't really care if you don't get any points deducted this coming season, wouldn't actually give a toss if you got promoted back to the Premiership. Throughout this whole sorry mess your Chairmen, Board, Manager and players have bleated how it is not thier fault - it is nobodies fault, nobody with the balls to take the blame. At least when our club went under those at the top had the good grace to clear their desks and leave quietly. What did yours do? If you cannot see why the flippancy in your remark (be it tongue in cheek or not) causes outrage amongst real football fans, then I suggest you take a trip to Selhurst Park and see how life is in the real world. I am very proud of my club, are you?
