  1. Exactly - square one - showing no tolerance whatsoever to others requirements - a classic 'non-smokers' stance. And this is all the originator wants access too, during games (or at least a half time) - not really too much to ask is it...?
  2. Yeah many thanks - I think we have long established & accepted that fact. Solution....???
  3. We fully appreciate the rules - we are trying to work within them. The originator tested the rules and they work - he had a fag and was ejected. He now want to try and find a simple solution to a simple problem which has been solved in other venues. It's not a case of trying to inconvenience anybody else - it's not a case of trying to split the atom - it's a relatively simple problem. As for your 'if you can't wait for 2 hours.... don't get on a plane, train etc', yep, I agree, thats a solution - and here we are right back at square 1.
  4. Not quite sure what your point is in relation to disabled or blind persons. However, I fully agree with you, people do choose to smoke - as is thier right to do so. Like people choose to drink, drive (too fast in some cases), jump out of aeroplanes, ski, swim and a multitude of other lifestyle activities that all carry some element of risk to the participant or others in their vicinity. It is, to my knowledge, a free world - we may not like what others wish to spend their time doing, but we should all be tolerant to their needs. What happens when the 'drinking in public places' ban is introduced in a few years - where will all the drinkers go for their half time pint?
  5. Perhaps you should read the whole thread before jumping in heavy handed. The guy doesn't want to blow smoke in your (or anybodies for that matter) face. He wants some smoking arrangements at SMS. He doesn't want to break any of your H & S Rules or Regulations, he doesn't want to be (and nor should he be) blamed for your rising insurance premiums. He wants to have a cigarette - no more, no less. Now I don't smoke, but as others have pointed out on here, other entertainment venues have sourced quite simple yet workable solutions to this problem - therefore I see no reason why SMS cannot follow suit. Come the day when a working man can't enjoy a quiet smoke then we are in trouble, what next for the Government to govern? Strange that the Government has made strenuous efforts to provision for non smokers, surely it is discriminatory to therefore not make those same efforts for smokers - no?
  6. I think that a few here need to dismount thier high steeds....!! The originator is not advocating that smoking be allowed in SMS at all. He admits to the fact that he tried to find an unoccupied area where he had a crafty smoke - he got nicked and was ejected. All he is asking is for 'proper smoking facilities or arrangements' to be afforded to him in or around the ground. The way some of you are reacting is as if he wants to light up, blow smoke all over you and your kids, stub his fag out in your eye and litter the remnants all over the stadium. That is not what he is suggesting - he would like a sensible solution to the problem. Fair enough if the club decide the problem is not worth sourcing a solution to allow for smoking clientel then sobeit. But lets not all mount our lofty steeds and blame the originator for the state of our air and how it's drastically affected our own, and childrens health and wellbeing. All the guy wants is a quiet cigarette ffs.
  7. As an ex smoker I can sympathise with your plight and agree that the club should afford it's smoking customers some kind of facilities that can be used at half time at least. I work away from home a lot of the time in Germany where they have just introduced the smoking ban into public places, much the same as over here, however in a lot of places it has not worked. In the region in which I work, I'm led to believe that after only a couple of months trial it has all but been dropped because business premises, (pubs, clubs and restaraunts) were all losing too much. As I was flying out of Schipol Airport in Amsterdam the other day - I also noticed that they have once again started to install smoking boothes in certain parts of the building. If it can be done there - I see no reason why sensible smoking arrangements cannot be made at SMS.
  8. Ohhh I see - so you are actually judging him and making assumptions based on accounts of what other players have done at the wheel of their motor vehicles - good plan, could probably save loads on legal fees if such a concept was introduced - but I doubt it ever will be.
  9. Interesting debate - sad to see that the usual suspects are out to deliver the coup de gras based on a few lines of 'hurried journolism' and very little fact. It is a tragic case, young man involved in a RTA where another man tragically loses his life. And the facts that we do actually know, that JR allegedly was changing tracks on an iPod. How do we know that - well we can only assume that he admitted that much to the police (in which case well done him). But does that mean that he was (is) totally to blame for the accident. Do we know for sure that the deceased gent didn't do something that contributed to this accident? Was a 3rd party involved, who failed to stop? What other contributing factors were ? Perhaps it would be wise to allow all of the facts to be considered before we open the trap door or pull the trigger - eh - just a thought.
  10. The players appear to give points away fairly freely each game, perhaps the club might think about giving season ticket holders a free pint for every home point dropped. Ahhhh but then again - everybody at SMS would be bladdered most games...!!!
  11. Cut & Pasted views, baiting, getting banned and George Burley - and good old Alpine Saint was spot on every time - one hell of an angel, never, ever wrong and always wronged against. You couldn't make it up - but I'll give you one thing DD, you are one loyal lap dog - whereas I wouldn't want the negative bleeder in my team ever - you would probably be top of my list every time.
  12. You must be new here - we could be a top 4 Prem side, just won the FA Cup, playing in Europe with full houses every week, and Alpine would still find something to whinge about...! That's his way - you should get used to it, most regs here have.
  13. If we lost 2 nil - I'd be happy as a pig in shyte (rather that than a real home mullering) - that said - if we managed anything out of the game I'd be over the moon. 0 - 0, clean sheet and a point would be good for confidence, a win - bloody priceless in our current predicament.
  14. In a nutshell - no - it's a free world... But then again - if we were to win 6 - 0, you'd be gutted...!
  15. Yeah right - dream on - what's the likelihood of that happening - we haven't scored in yonks and rarely look likely to...!!!
  16. Here's wishing you all a very Merry Christmas & a relegation free 2009...! Have a great one everybody - look forward to taking up the banter again in the New Year
  17. Yeah there was the occasional thread worth reading - there was some guy SFC76 (or something like that) that appeared to basically start most of the threads and then other poster contributed. I am actually a member of the forum - but as I say - didn't use it too much due to it's limited subject matter. Personally I think there is room for other forums to discuss SFC matters - but they need to have their own agenda, topics for debate and style. Errr just went on there - there are about 8 topics of discussion and this is one of them: http://foreversaints.1talk.net/forever-saints-f1/is-anyone-else-disillusioned-with-the-other-forums-t5.htm As I said - they need to forget other forums and get on with promoting thier own site if they want 'heavy traffic' to contribute on a regular occurance.
  18. No blinkers here and certainly no 'anti-american blurb' (whatever that may be). I was merely highlighting the fact that you constantly appear to be trying to flog us kids from the MLS. I'm not too sure though that our Dutch friend will be very flush with cash at the moment as Rupes appears to be holding the strings quite tightly. Even if he were to look overseas - methinks a Dutch coach is more likely to start to poach players from his 'home' league as opposed to looking over the pond at those available in the good old US of A. I'm sure you have some promising kids there - but you will always suffer from the '4th sport syndrome' behind American Football, Baseball and Basketball - therefore I believe that most european coaches will look to Europe for talent.
  19. Guess I'd just as well be the first to point out that so was WGS....
  20. Yep - if your a guy - no dresses.... HTH
  21. Errrr nobody made any assumptions - they just posed questions based on this and the originators many previous posts on similar subjects.
  22. One of the strangest forums I have ever visited - seemed totally preoccupied with trying to 'put down' this site and it's posters, whilst they seemed to have no more than a handful of posters contributing to their own forum. The most activity that I saw on there was from posters here who went to moan that they had been temporarily barred from here - it was almost like this sites very own detention room. Strange place - could of worked as an alternate Saints forum but really just looked like a place where a few people went to vent their rage.
  23. Are you on commission - it appears that every other post you make is attempting to flog dodgy US players to us. Your an agent right... do you know LLS perchance...
  24. Whilst I have to disagree with MM in that I don't think that anybody is above critisism, I would concur that both AL and DMG are young professionals learning their trade. Added to that they have both been thrown in the deep end due to the mess that we are currently in. Those who do critisise them though should perhaps think back a season and remember the sort of stick that KD took on here - who would want to be without KD this season - not many. Perhaps MM has a point and these young players time is yet to come - problem is, where will SFC be when they finally start to produce the goods consistently.
  25. Ahhhh the old early Christmas wind up and bit of baiting from the usual suspects. Nothing like trying to 'drive the wedge' to it's fullest into the fanbase in order to prove.... errr what exactly.... that we don't get 15000 at away matches. No s h i t Sherlock - big deal. Seasons Greetings to you all - move on.
