  2. You can get 3/10 on betfair - which seems about right. The 1/5 or 1/6 is too tight. I piled onto West Ham at 4/1 to NOT get promoted (as posted here several weeks ago) and have now laid it off at a £2,300 profit. I hope you followed my advice then ;-) You can currently get 14/1 at Skybet on Saints to win the play-offs. That's a good bet.
  3. Genuine questions: 1. is offering to hand on unused season tickets at the standard, individual ticket price (i.e. More than the cost of the season ticket divided by 23), considered profiteering and a breach of forum rules? 2. Is it okay if I seek a donation (possibly above face value, possibly not) to a charity (probably the Saints Foundation) in return for the tickets? If yes to question 1 and no to question 2, I'll refrain from offering.
  4. Seems pretty off hand customer service. I guess it depends a bit how many away shirts they have left. If only a handful, they probably don't need to reduce the price to clear.
  5. I'm going corporate for the last game - so does this mean my three usual season ticket seats are spare or will they have been sold on by the club?
  6. I see the logic of being hush-hush on injuries. although it is frustrating for fans. Does any other club practice a similar strategy?
  7. We get another shot at stuffing Portsmouth. (I'll get my coat...)
  8. Seem to remember a big occasion vs Sheffield Utd, where we needed a win to stay up. Came back from 0-1 to win 3-2. We "did" that occasion. Has sod all bearing on the last 3 games of this season though...
  9. It's just a nonsense whinge from a depressive. There is absolutely nothing in Southampton's history to indicate we will blow the run in. We might not get promoted - but this is not because of some absurd idea that the club doesn't "do" big occasions - for which there is not a single shred of evidence. Please lock.
  10. Wtf? We were immense in the run-in last season. And any idea that losing to Derby on penalties under Burley has any bearing on our chances today is just nuts. There is no basis at all in fact for the OP's statement.
  11. We ain't going to be level on goals scored. We're way ahead of West Ham on that measure.
  12. Still think six will probably do it. That GD is still worth an edge. I think we need to aim to win all 3 games though - we could still catch Reading FFS.
  13. I'm still pretty confident, but it's a big test now. Am trying to work out how valuable our GD lead is now really worth...but it's making my head hurt.
  14. Agree. I think it's quite important they have nothing to play for on the final day.
  15. We should still be fine. 2 wins out of three is still probably enough - and I reckon we can manage that.
  16. dreadful weekend. May need 7 points, not six now....
  17. Starting to look like GD is a minor advantage for us now, rather than nailed on.
  18. Am keeping an eye on our goal difference now. Our advantage is getting hit badly by Brighton rolling over.
  19. In better news, Pompey are 2-0 down.
  20. No one seems able to do us much of a favour at the moment....
  21. Dream on. Saints will go up with ease.
  22. Some real pant-wetting on here. We don't need to win the last 3 to get promoted. 2 wins will almost certainly get us up, and quite possibly less than that.
  23. The next games are on Tuesday. By 5pm on 21st there will only be one game left.
  24. I reckon the last 3 games are all much of a muchness. We're prob slight favourites for the two away games. Have to hope Coventry are either down or safe on the 28th. Wouldn't say Posh is strictly a must win, but heck the nerves will really set in if we blow it.
  25. A bit hard done by overall. Wouldn't say robbed - but agree with the view of most neutrals/commentators that the better team lost. But fair play to Reading. They lethally punished three sloppy errors. On another day against another team, we may have just got away with it. Other worries are a lack of pace and urgency. De Ridder was too deep for me, he should have hung on Harte's shoulder and we should have played a couple of balls over the top for him to get onto. He always had to get through their left side rather than beat them for pace in a chase for the ball. In terms of urgency, I don't think we picked up the tempo enough when we got the equaliser or even at 2-1 down. From virtually every throw in, the only option seemed to be short to Hammond or Cork. Final complaint was no one seemed willing to put their laces through the ball. Too often Saints players wanted another touch or another pass rather than take a whack at goal. The 12 shots on target include a fair few limp efforts. All that said, we could quite easily have won the game and should have enough to pick up the necessary points from the last three games. Six points will do it - and any slips from West Ham might would mean we can make it on just 4 points or possibly even three. A little hard to see us taking top spot though. I suppose if we win all 3 remaining matches, it's just about doable. We're not down to the wire yet, we have a modicum of breathing space.
