He'll score more than Ormerod. He has more an instinct for goals than Brett as well as a similar workrate.
-
LOL, surely he should factor in that we bif £5m for one of their players before the window closed... not sure we'd have done that if we were skint... Then again, it never stopped Pompey...

Superb post and your link just about sums it all up for me. I'm sure Corpy agrees.... rofl

Harrison has claimed to Sportsmail that one club are 'under the protection of the FA'. He insists the club use the same agent for all their deals and that there are kickbacks as a reward. Sportsmail has been unable to substantiate this allegation, but he has notified the FA of his concerns. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM........

Absolutely.

Quality player, great work ethic. Rather him than Rodriguez or Maynard as I think he'll suit our style/attitude better. That said, it's gone now.
-
I wonder if he's one of those players that gets passed around to make money.... then again, surely not?

Superb post -
Great post as always lol And here's something for amusement, just to wrap up a superb weekend - one of the most hollow and amusing on-pitch announcements since Delia asked "Where are you?": http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/8656390.stm "If anyone wants a lesson on passion, commitment and loyalty, Fratton Park is the place" Says Avram, at WHU one month later to the fans, who have unashamedly deserted the club in their droves since administration.

Pretty much every club we've played with the exception of Leeds have been behind us in the table, tbf...
-
Well she's well-endowed

Oh yeah, that's a good point - I mentioned how good the infrastructure is but didn't mention just how important it is to have a good manager. Porto are, of course, a much bigger club playing in, arguably, a less-competitive league. However, his achievements should not be underestimated either. To win the CL with Porto is an incredible feat

Well, what Cortese said about the Champions League... exciting, but I cannot see how we'd achieve it. Then again, one only has to look at Villarreal and other middling provincial clubs who have achieved that level of 'success' to see that it can be done. That said, our domestic league compared to others could be considered a far, far harder nut to crack. I'd be happy to consider Cortese a huge success if it meant coming from the bottom of L1 to regularly competing for Cups/PL football... though, as we all know, we've got a fair old way to go yet.

Reminds of people who are "too nice" to say anything critical to anyone and because of that, get themselves into worse situations That comment though... they cannot seriously have believed what they were saying -
As I've said below, I still can't fathom the reaction to some mildly disappointing decisions he's made. On the whole, where it matters most, we're functioning almost perfectly and he has probably overseen one of the most exciting eras in modern times. That, and of course the fact he contributed heavily to our salvation. Not just that though, but having him/Markus is an incredible coup - and one we should be very, very thankful for. Imagine the alternatives.. Micky Fialka or that ex-York chairman A legend, for me, is someone who sticks around for a very, very long time and oversees a largely successful era. Cortese's not there yet, obviously, but even if we did get back to the Premier League and not win anything there whilst under his chairmanship, I'd still consider him something of a legend. Not a feet-kissing, worship-style one - but more in a forever appreciative kinda way.

Ha, just commented on your post funnily enough! I honestly cannot fathom the reaction to some, at best, mildly irritating decisions he's made. Why can't they look beyond a couple of quid extra instead of stomping around making a big fuss over nothing? They probably won't credit it, but it was Cortese who told Markus to buy us, y'know... he's been very good so far but if he'd only been average, he deserves a little more slack for that contribution alone.
-
Couldn't have said it better myself.
-
That's fair enough. I still think he should get far more credit than he's due though, despite his flaws. Or maybe not credit, but a bit more slack.

Wasn't the excuse that it what constructed from different parts so that it was hard to determine scale/quality etc? And yes, good point... thanks God it came to nothing -
No. If he doesn't achieve what you require (or believe to be realistic), what would you consider him? A failure? An average chairman? An axe-wielding psychopath? And what do you think of what he's achieve so far?

Shame that there wasn't much canvassing of opinions while Ian Brennan was chipping away at that £112,000 monstrosity.... I still can't believe no-one said "Hang on a minute, mate..." -
So, despite what he's done for the club so far (you've only listed the negatives) - unless he achieves the above, he'd be considered a bit of failure? We really don't realise how lucky we are

Lawrie was a very well paid employee who continued to take even when we were in the sh1t financially. I hope you don't get your plane/banners out again if anything goes a bit awry That said, a plane flying past with "GIVE US BACK OUR CAR PARK FFS" would make me chuckle.

That would have been a feckin' disaster if the first Ted Bates statue was anything to go by. Highlight here for subliminal message: Cortese is GOD. You worship no-one else.
