Not really, our game is heavily based on working as a team, everybody seems to know their job, I guess he won't start until he's had time to work with the defence, same reason de ridders not starting yet imo.

So are people not allowed to question the finances of the club? He was only ****ing asking. we all laughed at Pompey fans who refused to question what was going on, preferring to blindly accept promises on face value. Now personally, I trust the Liebherrs and Cortese, but given what we've previously been through it is perfectly natural and healthy for fans to want to know more about the clubs finances.
-
It's pretty reasonable for people to ask. We've spent a lot of money.

Or at least back to normal.

Arsene Wenger - massive, floppy skinned hypocrite
Barry the Badger replied to Crab Lungs's topic in General Sports
I dunno, Wenger is a nob for his double standards and general stubborness in some cases. But, in an age where results are always prioritised over playing good football I admire him for bucking the trend and sticking to his guns about the way he wants his team to play, even at the cost of success. Probably wouldn't be saying that if I was an Arsenal fan. -
Delaps was the harder to carry off IMO, because the ball was coming across him.
-
I'm sure there are. What I was commenting on is that it's apparently impossible to question Cortese on anything without being accused of being 'anti-Cortese'. It is possible to think he's doing a good job but still question certain decisions. Shades of grey Alps.
-
If only Burley was still here, then we could shift Connoly to right back and everybody would be happy.
-
How dare you judge each situation on its merits!!! For god sake man, get a grip, decide whether you are pro or anti-Cortese and bloody well stick to it, even in the face of all evidence to the contrary!

I will never understand why people with differing points of view cannot debate an issue without it turning into this. This was quite an interesting read up until about 3 days ago.
-
To be honest. It doesn't make much difference to my viewpoint, I now just think there are lots of clubs that are wrong instead of it just being us :-)

I do find amusing that moment after a big goal when everything calms down and you and the skinhead in the row in front have to stop basically holding hands whilst firing off manly shouts like "get in there you f***ing Saints" to try and 'man' the moment up a bit.
-
Look at the video, they already have 2 men hanging around near the wall not marking anybody closely. It was bloody obvious what Saints were doing so at least one of them needed to get much closer. Also they could move the whole wall a step to the left. Now none of this would neccesarily have prevented it, it's a great free kick, but I'm certain their manager would be dissapointed with just how easy they made it for us.

Have to say Holmes looks excellent there, against League 2 opposition admittedly. He could come in handy this season. De Ridder looks good but does get done defensively on the overlap second half... I guess that ties in with Adkins saying he needs to work on his tracking back.
-
They could place two men either in front of or behind the two Saints players.
-
Funny, my question appears to have been lost in here. Are we talking about the same Eltham heroes who are shown in one of the video's throwing bricks at a few black lads who are on a passing bus?
-
Were these the same brave EDL members I saw in a video throwing bricks at some black kids who were sitting on a bus? Heroic.
-
Would be nice if the club gave some indication of the expected use for the flag from now on. Will they make it available for any league games or only the ML tournament each year?
-
Now labour and the Tories going at it on newsnight. I thought maybe once they could put it to one side, ********.

"Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it" Society may feel very different on the surface, but underneath it is not. On a basic level it's not even that different to 4-500 years ago.

I'm not talking about blame, where have I mentioned blame? Why is it that trying to establish the root causes for this means you are automatically looking to detract blame from those carrying out the acts? The two things are not the same. Do I believe there are deeper issues causing this then just 'scum doing this for a laugh' - YES I DO Do I think that detracts from the fact that the rioters are responsible for their own actions - NO I DO NOT Do I think there is anybody to blame other than the rioters themselves - NO I DO NOT It is possible to think there are wider social issues without shifting blame.
-
AGAIN. It is possible to believe there are deeper reasons for all of this without in any way feeing that it's acceptable or that there's any excuse whatsover. Why can't people see the difference between looking for causes and looking for excuses?
