  1. In some ways a shame Vettel lost it where he did. Would have loved to see them coming down the back straight side by side into that last chicane!

    Senna

Saw it on Thursday. I was born in 82 so a lot of the Senna/Prost stuff was when I was just getting into F1. I found the first half of the film really interesting, the background politics between Senna/Prost was something I wasn't aware of at the time. I was pleased it wasn't made as a piece of Senna propaganda, and highlighted his flaws as well as his strengths. I will agree with Saint137 that the Martin Donnely footage is absolutely unbelievable. To see a guy lying in the middle of the track in just his race seat, crazy. Then the Imola stuff was just incredibly powerful. Watching Senna's reaction as he sees the doctors trying to save Ratzenbergers life, knowing that we would be seeing him in the same position shortly was pretty tough viewing. Very well put together.
  3. Perhaps. But next time you are driving count the number of times you see a motorist doing something without indicating.
  4. So what will the reason be when they get their winter break, and then are still ****?
  5. I think the club have to an extent become victims of the big price drops when we went down. That said, they should have handled the increase over a couple of years rather than in one go.
  6. Which is great right up until the time the club realise people are doing it, at which point they withdraw the concessions completely as it's too hard to manage if there's no trust involved.
  7. Yeah, I couldn't help but laugh when I read that. What the **** is it about then?
  8. You must be on a wind up.
  9. I think that's a chat up line.
  10. I agree with this statement, but only up until the moment they post their troubles on a message board, at which point they are basically inviting comment/opinion.
  11. Ok, they give you 5 months, you buy one in march. So what happens if your cooker then packs in the next day? Silly argument really. I appreciate that times are hard etc but are people really this useless at managing their money?
  12. The prices are a little higher than I expected by about £60-70 but over a season I guess that's not too bad. I can understand if they aren't fussed about promoting season tickets etc, I have no problem with that. I do think things like the concessions age change could be handled better though. The old 'football clubs being run purely as a normal business' discussion is a complicated one for all sorts of reasons, I accept that this is what football has become now, but my opinion is that communication costs nothing.
  13. Then I propose a 2 tier pricing system. One for those who share those aspirations £595, and one for those who aren't fussed £350. :-)
  14. What I mean is that it's impressive to watch, but tends to make for fascinating games rather than exciting ones.
  15. Whilst Barca are just unbelievably impressive, I have to say I find them pretty boring to watch.
  16. NO. You mention common sense but this is exactly the type of thinking that tries to eradicate common sense from such situations. A black person saying "oh great, another black person" in a jokey way is not even worthy of entering discussion. Equally, somebody trying to compare a nickname for a group from a local city with racism is utterly ridiculous. I hate it when those bloody "why is it ok to take the **** out of a ginger person for being ginger but not a black person for being black" threads pop up too. The last time I checked the gingers weren't enslaved, killed, tortured etc simply for being ginger.
  17. Funny really. Still at least the expectations will only last until about 4 games in when we're yet to win as always :-)
  18. As we showed this season, in football when you're doing well it's easy to gloat and come across arrogant. Its just that they've been doing it for 20 years now :-)
  19. But it's like somebody else said, warring emotions. I want to see the best players I possibly can, and ideally see saints in the highest possible league. The higher prices doesn't bother me but what does is the way fans of prem clubs are very much secondary to Sky Sports. Taking Stoke as a random example. How many Saturday 3PM games did they have at home this season? Just 8. West Ham - 10 Blackpool - 9 Now I know to some people this wont matter but it would affect my enjoyment of a season to an extent. But it is conflicting emotions, one the one hand I would love to see us back on Match of the Day and handing out beatings to the big clubs once again, on the other hand the Championship suits me just fine for a bit. I'm not desperate for the Premier League myself. That said I'm sure I will be going mental with the rest of you if we somehow managed promotion next season. It's a funny old game.
  20. My entire football routine has become tied in with the Saturday 3pm kick off. Meeting mates in pub at 12, few beers after etc. I would definitely miss that if we ever made it back to the prem.
  21. Davis Richardson Fonte Baird Bale Oxo Scheiderlin Viafara Lallana Jones Lambert Hell yeah! That's one hell of team. Think you're harsh on Viafara, he was quality that season. The only one I'm not sure on is Jones, can't remember how good he was at the time.
  22. Good, but not this good... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgPSY4aoGxI
  23. Generally pretty accurate and good assesment. I would argue with the following sentence though... "interviews are a barrage of clichés, with him signing off just about everything he says with ‘Together as one’, but the Saints fans love it." Although I find it quite amusing I reckon it would quickly start to grate on people if we were struggling.
  24. I like the way some people complain that the club are missing out on revenue by not having season tickets on sale yet, whilst others are complaining that the club are trying to maximise revenue by not having season tickets on sale yet.
