Pitch invasion at Walsall game - YES Pitch invasion at Plymouth - NO
-
I think we have to remember what the atmosphere was like at that Burnley game when we went into admin and were relegated. Whether Plymouth fans have the energy left to be that highly charged I don't know.
-
They don't like us. Some nonsense about a cup game 5 years ago and ticket allocations.
-
Don't be so patronising, I'm quite aware that the whole ball has to be out and that also any angle creates what looks like a gap. I sit pretty much in line with the sideline, which I would actually say gives you a better view that the officials have due to not being so close. Perhaps saying it happens every game was an exaduration but it happens.

We had gone a bit quiet in the Northam at that point :-) -

My Dad once gave offside from a throw in when I played junior Sunday league, that was embarrasing even at that level so for a professional to do it is ridiculous. I can only imagine he lost concentration and didn't see where the ball had come from!
-
That seems to happen every single game. I don't know if it's because the lino's are more underneath it that makes it difficult to see, but there's always one (often from Harding) that will curl a foot or so out then back in without being flagged.

Saints V Hartlepool 2-0 Post Match Chat
Barry the Badger replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
I always have a look at the lino before celebrating if I think there's any chance of offside. I'm always the one who has to stop my mates celebrating, but today I was off celebrating with the rest of them because it didn't even occur to me to check. I hope they show it on the FL show. -
Oh for f*cks sake. There is nothing wrong with being in league 1. I am delighted we're probably heading towards promotion. I've enjoyed this season massively. I am not "pinching myself" that we are in 2nd place.
-
See above.

I'm bloody delighted that were probably heading up, over the moon. Am I "pinching myself"? No. That's something you do when you can't believe what's happening.
-
Not really. We're in League 1.

I went to uni down there and was there when we got relegated. The idiot Brighton fans at the pub taking the ****, gloating and generally loving it really surprised me as until then I quite liked them as a club and wasn't expecting that.
-
Maybe they're just biased against teams who play in Red and White?

The rise and rise of Nigel Adkins....
Barry the Badger replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
Did you think he was lying then? -
I think part of the issue with this is Cortese and Adkins talking about "The Southampton Way" and short sharp passing football and suddenly people expect Arsenal-esque football rather than as close to that as you're likely to get in League One.

Will you make a banner? Do you hope that Saints put a message on the programme referencing his comments? -
If we go up I am looking forward to actually getting decent highlights on a Saturday night every once in a while.

Poyet compares us with Dagenham and Redbridge
Barry the Badger replied to thegaffer's topic in The Saints
We don't have an over reliance on that approach, but we do seem to know when to use it. Unlike under Pardew when we would resort to it by default when losing or under pressure. -
No no and no. I don't care if we're the "best team in the league". The only thing I care about is that we are not in it next season.

I love it. A Saints manager coming out on top in mind games, he's clearly got right under Poyet's skin. Who needs Mourinho... -

Haha. Adkins really got under his skin didn't he! -
He was excellent at Orient.

I understand the worries but I do wonder if Nigels's trying to get Brighton overly fired up. The fact is they were going to be up for this regardless of what Adkins said so maybe he's just trying to tip them over the edge. There is a point at which being fired up stops being productive and starts being a hinderance. The only thing I can think is that Adkins is trying to get the Brighton players to that point.
