  1. Even more frightening that many of them were first team regulars in the division above the season we were relegated.
  2. Definitely is the case today. A chap at work tol me he was going to renew next week as he's waiting on some cash. I told him to contact the club today to make sure, they confirmed that after today it's full price. He's decided not to renew. I guess he's one of those people are talking about. He's been on the edge the whole time unsure whether to renew, the fact that it turned into a bit of a pain in the arse put him off in the end. I am coming around to the argument that it's a bit of a worry the way things are going, having previously been fairly unconcerned.
  3. God that summer was awful. Constantly checking the echo site, sky sports news in the background, there was even a night where Sky Sports were saying if it doesn't go through tonight we are fecked, horrible horrible. Thank heavens Markus turned up.
  4. I'm sure we had the same complaint last year...
  5. Football clubs are now businesses like any other. The sooner people accept that the sooner they will start enjoying the football again.
  6. I love the way that we get loads of complaints that the clubs policy on season ticket sales is not 'maximising revenue', then when the club do 'maximise revenue' people complain about that too.
  7. Are you Matthew Le God in disguise?
  8. Has Andy Murray come out and said he hates Dune now then? I hope he doesn't later try to claim it was tongue in cheek, the ****.
  9. I miss Tim Henman. At least when he lost every year he did so in an interesting way.
  10. Again a case of a small minority ruining this for the rest of us. A few idiots abuse the installment plan causing the club to get all panicky about it and enforce these silly rules.
  11. Well even when they went on sale early season tickets were not sent out in June if I remember correctly. So presumably all you ever gave your daughter was the promise of a season ticket not an actual one wrapped up. So I don't see why a later date would affect that. As for the holiday argument...If anybody is unlucky enough to be out of the country for those exact two weeks, it's not like it's been sprung on them and it should be relatively simple to arrange for a family member to renew their ticket for them. Another non existent problem. As for there being no possible reason for them delaying, do you think that the coordination and selling of Season tickets costs the club nothing? There are costs involved and it seems pretty apparent that they've worked out this is the most cost effective way to sell the season tickets.
  12. I guess I will just never understand the desperate need for Season Tickets to be on sale sooner. The season starts in August, I really don't want to have to buy my ticket any earlier than July. I do get that some people can overstretch themselves with money and so struggle to set the £500 quid to one side, but I know people who are properly angry about them not being on sale yet, and not because they are struggling for the cash but simply because they want it NOW. I really don't understand the panic and I don't think I ever will.
  13. No. It would however be poor business to have to hire a **** load of extra staff and pay to upgrade systems to cope with putting everything on sale at once, when it could be avoided by simply seperating things out a bit. How much money do you really think they lose through having a two week period where only renewals are available? I would bet anything that it's less than it would cost them to try and deal with it.
  14. The phones/online system go absolutely metal as it is, with new sales seperated out from renewals. You are basically suggesting that the club makes new sales and renewals all available at the same time. Now THAT'S a poor business plan.
  15. Just because those other clubs are doing it does not mean they're all right. Do you really think West Ham are making a good decision in moving to a 60'000 seater stadium?
  16. I was chatting to a guy from work about Saints today, he said he'd sent a "very strongly worded letter" to the club about them releasing the kit so late. Kept banging on about missing out last year when they ran out. I pointed out that I bought mine one or two games into last season and they hadn't run out at that point, and if he was that bothered he could pre-order it. He then reverted to the "well the club aren't maximising sales" argument. I still struggle to get my head around why a fan would really care THAT much whether the club are maximising their shirt sales. If I worked at the club I would find it hard not to just laugh at people writing angry letters over the release date of a shirt.
  17. I don't think it needs the crest. Just the words and image.
  18. Crab Lungs two are the best. Keep it simple.
  19. I think it's having a massive effect on results. Without DRS in the last 10 laps I reckon the result of the Canadian GP would have been Vettel, Schumacher, Button, Webber.
  20. The away league shows 43 wins in 253 games. Ouch. Would like to see a points per game version but can't be arsed to work it out myself.
  21. I think DRS is a good idea but they are getting the start points wrong sometimes. They should be setting it so that drivers can get very very close by the end of the straight, enough to have a go, it should not be set so early that the move is made before the corner even arrives. I guess it must be hard to judge where to put it as a lot will depend on setup i guess.
  22. I'm not keen on the stewards getting involved in so many racing incidents. I think unless it's really blatant they should stay out of it.
  23. There will be one for the collision with Alonso.
