  1. Was pretty disappointed with the Murty thing, given it was billed as a behind the scenes players eye view I was hoping to see more pre match stuff. All we saw was the players lining up to go out.
  2. I think it's called 'coaching'.
  3. Davis Butterfield - Jaidi - Fonte - Dickson Forte/Chaplow - Stephens - Hammond - Lallana/N'Guessan Guly - Lambert
  4. I was going to post an opinion, but I'm too frightened of getting a badge related fact wrong in the process.
  5. I bumped into some Palace fans on the way to Orient. A year and a half after we signed him, Fonte was all they could talk about. They are still gutted they lost him.
  6. As far as I could tell the times we went backwards was because there was nothing on rather than because nobody was prepared to go forwards. I think you are being unrealistic and I don't think we did it too much. You have to strike a balance, attack when its possible, but when it's not on be realistic, turn around, go back and start again rather than trying to force it. If those who groan every time we do this had their way we would be panicking and desperately hoofing it into the box for the last half hour, because that's worked out well in the past hasn't it?
  7. Maybe, although it's difficult to say he made the wrong decision as he's now the best player in the country and one of the most sought after players in the world.
  8. It's as though every player has a certain amount of goodwill 'in the bank' they can use up before the moaning starts. Barnard gets plenty because he's a grafter and is seen as 'one of the lads', Lallana and Oxo get plenty because they're academy products. Lambert gets a bit, probably for what he acheived last season, but not as much as those three. Guly gets very little because he's foreign and although he covers ground at times he's not a grafter and can look disinterested. Maybe Guly should go out and bottle somebody on a Saturday night :-) I just don't know what people hope to acheive by getting at players who are trying to do something out of the ordinary. It wasn't long ago that we got relegated from the Championship with a team of young players who passed it between themselves nicely enough, but never took a risk, because they were intimidated by the crowd.
  9. Just to reopen this debate. I just had a chat with a guy at work who says Guly is **** and should have been brought off Saturday. He said Guly is "too unpredictable". That would be the same unpredictablility that took it round two players and slotted home to keep us second then! Now I know he had a dodgy game overall, but I don't get why some fans cannot accept that he is just one of those players who can struggle for most of the game then come up with a moment of brilliance to win it for us. The important thing is he seems to ignore the moans and groans and at least keeps trying to make stuff happen. He then went on to moan about Stephens only playing simple passes and not trying anything out of the ordinary. I gave up at this point.
  10. Maybe the club should start it's own radio station ;-) I can understand the point if we are playing Bournemouth or Pompey, that Solent have to be neutral. But when we are playing a club from outside the area I don't get why they couldn't be as biased towards Saints as they like.
  11. No I'm row kk,this guy was new so hopefully just a one off. To be honest he seemed to hate our entire team.
  12. I was desperate for lambert to score after the bloke behind me spent the whole match calling him a fat useless c**t.
  13. Can we start a campaign to get that commentator back? He sounds like he really really cares, much better than what we have now.
  14. I'm sorry but I just don't buy it. I've seen us play pretty badly with good old 4-4-2 at times. The only difference here is that there is an obvious perceived flaw in the diamond so everybody jumps on it . Play 4-5-1 and lose and everybody shouts "there's no support for the striker", and it's the same here, anything other than 4-4-2 and it's a flawed system rather than just a poor performance. Every system has it's flaws I just think it's far to simplistic to blame "the diamond" for our defeat. Given our recent run of 9 unbeaten I am happy that Adkins knows which formations to play and when to get results.
  15. Are you talking about the same diamond we played in beating Charlton? Or the one we used to beat Leyton Orient?
  16. I am going to break with tradition and say that not only does David Connoly spend most of his time in the treatment room, but I don't really think he brings that much to the team when he does play.
  17. I like Forever a Saint as a caption. Not keen on WIFM.
  18. Having just watched the goals... The second is shocking mistake but it's not comparable to the Peterborough & mk dons ones everybody keeps banging on about it being the same as. With those two he left a gap and didn't get down to the shot...with this one he has the near post covered but then fluffs the stop. Progress? ;-) Still of the opinion that he's a quality keeper overall though.
  19. They clone it from petrol DNA found in the stomachs of spiders.
  20. Yep, love the first two. The black kit looks too much like a refs though.
  21. But you've only seen him once in a game where he was returning from injury! I can understand why you aren't sure about him but to be writing him off already is ridiculous.
  22. Is that the same diamond we've been mostly playing in our recent unbeaten run?
  23. Go back to Oldham? On the basis of one game?
  24. Went for my Birthday in Feb. Absolutely brilliant. Get to it before it gets a Michelin star and all the prices go up!
  25. Realistically though there are no teams in this league who could cope with the injuries we have and still be competitve. Harding, Richardson, Lallana, Chaimberlain, Scheiderlin. Of course we are going to be weakened with what it a fairly large injury list of quality players. You can only cover for so much.
