I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that having never watched a Saints team with such high expectations, many fans have no idea what we should be expecting or how to deal with it.
-
Well if you see the pre match thread. Thanks to Alpine stating unequivocally that "It wont be 3 or 4 bloody nil." I bet on 3-0 and 4-0. Just got home £60 quid better off. Thank you Alpine. Now, what score will the next game definitely NOT be?
-
I definitely see Peterborough as a threat to that top two finish, I don't see County as one though. County win for me.

I would honestly just write a quick email to the ticket office. They're normally very good at responding. I'm 99% sure that if you explain the situation and what you were told they will sort something out. Say that if there is any negotiation to be done with Walsall please could they do it on your behalf, given that the information you received was apparently incorrect.
-
Do you have the names of the people you spoke to? I would write back explaining what you were told, or email the ticket office.

I shall now be betting on both 3 and 4 bloody nil.

FM11 - Confusing Reality with Fantasy

I can't play it and listen to saints on the radio at the same time, it seriously confuses me. -
Clearly that game went against sensible predictions. By the way, Ladbrokes have it as 6-1 that we will win 3-0. They have it as 8-1 for a Yeovil win of any kind. That doesn't mean they're right but I'm just demonstrating that it's a perfectly reasonable prediction.
-
But you see, you are happy to refer to one offs when you are trying to justify why you are so negative. But I bet if we go a goal down to Yeovil you won't be saying "It's ok, we were a goal down at Exeter and came back to win".
-
I do think we are placing too much on this... Yes it's an important game but there's such a long way to go and it will only give one team a 3 point advantage in theory, which is nothing really with more than 10 games left. I certainly don't think the team that wins this match will feel they have one foot in the CCC.

I like this idea.

The meaning of Life, The Universe and Everything

I think Adkins would be given a chance to build his own team. -
Regardless of whether they are designed for money or not. I love the playoffs, the negative reaction to them on here has actually quite surprised me. For example, without the playoffs, our last 10-15 games last season would have been non-events with nothing to play for. As it was we always had that hope.

Colchester 0 - 2 Saints - Post Match Reaction
Barry the Badger replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
You do realise our games in hand would only take us level and thats assuming we win them both? Good win today, really pleased. Have to say I'm impressed with Bournemouth. Fair play to them with a squad put together with nothing. I hope that after we beat them to 2nd they get their promotion via the playoffs. -
Probably not fair but bloody exciting. I'm all for them.

I paid £5 of my not particularly hard earned cash for access to this site, the least I expect for such a sum is a site that never ever crashes, and is always incredibly fast. If banks can manage it why can't you!

How very dare he! What a desperate loser.
-
I was wondering this too. Not paid much attention until recently but suppose I should keep the dates free.
-
Well, with penalties included yes he is, although that's a different argument. You missed my point though. He isn't scoring the same type of goals, the ones out of nothing, the free kicks, the ones where you wouldn't expect him to score. He's still solidly going about getting a goal every few games, but those moments of inspiration have gone. It was those moments that made him our key player and the best striker in the division. Every great team has players they can turn to for a moment of individual brilliance out of nothing when things aren't going their way. Lambert and Lallana were those players for us last season, I'm not sure Lambert has been at all this season. I don't want to be overly critical of him, he's clearly trying, desperate to do well and he has still chipped in with some important goals. I like him as a player, but this is part of our issue as I see it, and part of why we are not as good as we thought we would be this season.
-
I think Lambert is a big part of the answer. Last season he was astonishingly good for us, moments of magic, free kicks, long rangers winning games when we were never going to score otherwise. This season he's got the odd goal but is nothing like the player from last season.
-
Our league position suggests he does have a clue, although could definitely do better.

The not negative, not positve fans club
Barry the Badger replied to OttawaSaint's topic in The Saints
Sort yourself out man. Either find an extreme position one way or the other or get the hell off the forum. ;-) For what its worth I think there are plenty who are neither completely assured that everything will be ok, or convinced that we are doomed. I generally lean slightly towards the optimistic side, but I do find that as soon as I start trying to argue against the extreme pessimists I come across as much more optimistic and assured about Saints than I actually am. -
This is what you need though. Somebody to start it all off. If you got a decent group together and moved to the chapel, gradually people would see there was an atmosphere up there and might move over, in the same way as happened with block 1. Certainly speaking for myself, if I felt there was a better atmosphere somewhere else I would move. You will never get everybody to move on mass though it would have to be a gradual thing and you may need to be patient for the first season at least. That said, I suggest your best bet for this to happen may when the club eventually reopens blocks 1-3 and try to position it there?

Question for the Positive-Thinkers after the Walsall result
Barry the Badger replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Um... Whoever is second in the league table when the season ends deserves second place. -
Or is it just that we sacked a manager just a few games into the season and went on a shocking run that's still costing us now? It's been shown that since the managerial situation was sorted, we have been as good as anybody.
