  1. Heard a rumour Klopp has invited him for an Christmas lunch somewhere private.......
  2. 🤣🤣 😴😴😴
  3. The 6-3 win clearly wasn't that memorable for you, as the shirt change was in the 3-1 win the previous year. I was at both matches.
  4. Interesting comments from Ralph in the pre-match interview when asked in regard to Romeo signing a new contract. Something along the lines of, 'others need to let us know sooner than later if they intend to remain with us on this journey, as the train is leaving the station....'
  5. As other have said, anything is possible. Personally, I think we will end up some where on the cusp of mid-table 9th - 14th, which are usually only 5-6 points apart from each other.
  6. Personally, I think Walcott will offer us something different. He will certainly offer experienced cover and competition for all the forward positions. As a loan, with Everton paying half his wages, I don't see what's not to like. No doubt many of those bemoaning his signing are also those who have complained that our squad and bench is woefully short of experience in recent weeks. I also expect many of them were less than happy when we signed Ings. Just for comparison: https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/56219-danny-ings/
  7. Sounds like Diallo is a goer. From what I've seen and read, happy with that. Hoping we also still make a move for Grujic, although think that one may be a loan with an option. My reasoning for this is that even with Diallo in that still only really gives us 3 options for the defensive 2 midfield players. If one were to be injured/suspended no one to come off the bench, etc. I see Smallbone as more of a forward CM - back-up for Armstrong, as opposed to JWP/Romeu. Plus there is Tella. Plus, if we also Grujic. Diallo and Romeu available JWP could replace Armstrong if need be - or even KWP if he were out injured. Basically, I feel that bringing in Grujic would give us more options and flexibility than Loftus-Cheek or Sessegnon.
  8. Stupidly came here to find transfer rumours, but mostly have just seen dick waving by Turkish and his antagonists. Such a bore. Desperately hoping for a proper DM to come in, and hopefully an AM to replace Boufal.
  9. Obafami cost nothing and has already scored more goals than Boufal. Who's to say Tella won't do the same? Only time will tell, but there is a good chance he will score more than 3 goals if he is given 70 appearances (with around half of them being starts) over the next few years. Not that I am suggesting Tella should be his replacement. I would certainly like to see us bring in someone more experienced, but you get my drift. In any event, apart from a very few rare moments, Boufal has really done very little of note during his 4 years here.
  10. That's how I read it too
  11. It certainly is. Thanks for that. It also goes some way to backing up my thoughts that Che is learning a great deal from Danny. Che's goal against Bournemouth was a typical Danny goal - from the Del Piero zone; which I am taking a good sign for Che's progression and their developing partnership for next season.
  12. I have a feeling this was a large part of Ralph's decision to make so many changes for the Brighton match; so that we could field a full strength team on Sunday with quite a few being fresh. Really don't understand any Saints fan who wants us to lose at all. Bournemouth have already taken three points off of us this season. It's not our fault they are where they are in the table at this stage. I was really disappointed Watford lost last night, was hoping for a draw. Still think Bournemouth will come at us and play for the win - which would really play into our hands. Hoping to beat them by at least 3, but wouldn't be surprised by a draw.
  13. Not me. There is no circumstance to make me happy for a Saints loss. I wouldn't mind them staying up, if meant we didn't concede points to them - but that scenario is no longer possible, so sod them. Maybe going down will teach some of their fans some humility.....
  14. I think it was McCarthy's foot.
  15. Minsk

    20/21 Kit

Personally, I like both of them.
  16. No flaming, we are all allowed an opinion. I agree that Shane runs the channels better, but I think that Che holds the ball up and links play better. For example, against Watford every time we broke forward Shane would run with the ball but then lose it; whereas when Che came on we retained the ball better. Personally, I would stay with an unchanged 11 - if they are all fit and healthy. I just hope that the game is going sufficiently well for Ralph to use all 5 subs on Thursday.
  17. Well, I wasn't right with the 6-3 but I was right about a memorable win! As others have said, very akin to the win at Elland Road but, to my mind, a much better team performance. Really can't pick a MoM, the entire team team were magnificent. Stephens and Bednarek forming a great partnership; Ings and Armstrong outstanding all over the pitch; JWP captain marvel; KWP putting himself right in the shop window; McCarthy more than made amends for Arsenal. What a goal by Che! What a win! What a birthday present for me! Thanks Ralph and all those on the pitch in red, white and pink!
  18. I think you mean 6
  19. Perfect! Now I'm feeling even more confident about my 6-3 winning scoreline, as predicted yesterday. 🙃
  20. No! This is the first time, and probably the only time, that Saints will play a Premier League match on my birthday. And it's televised! So I am fully expecting to see a spectacle to match the most memorable of games in our history. Something like the 6-3 victory we handed out to their neighbours all those years ago (which I was fortunate enough to be at the Dell to watch). A hatrick for Ings and one apiece for JWP, Armstrong and Adams. You heard it here first!
  21. Possibly even more, as the test used is only 98.8% accurate. Therefore, 1 in every 100 (7 in this case) of those who showed negative could also have the virus. Then again, many in the group that was tested do fall into the 'let's all meet up for a party and a gangbang category' which is probably a bit riskier than the 'shopping at Tesco' or 'catch a bus' brigade.
  22. I'm fully well aware they in the final last season, but I am also fully well aware that they are highly unlikely to even be in the competition next season. Add in the fact that Kane is getting itchy feet..... I'm certainly not going to waste any money betting on them winning anything in the next few years.
  23. What the Hell are you talking about? Do you honestly believe either of those two clubs will win the prem or Champions League any time soon?? He said that the reason he wants to leave is to win the league and the Champions league. If he moves to either of those two clubs he will not achieve either of those aims. Ergo, it will be purely for the money.
  24. We will see how realistic his statement about wanting to win the league/champions league is when he leaves. If he goes to Everton/Spurs he has done so purely for the money. (No problem with him doing that, so long as he is then honest about the reason). He isn't good enough to get regular games for Liverpool or City and doubt either would come in for him as a squad player, as they already have better dubs than him. Don't think he would much game time for Chelsea, Arsenal or Utd either; would any of them go for him to be a back-up/squad player? Maybe, but wouldn't put any money on it. The only way I can see him getting games in the Champions league is if he moves back to Germany, or another European team. But that would probably mean him taking a pay cut. As others have said though, his leaving will be a loss for us. Not as big a loss as us losing JWP would be, but a loss. We have been very short in centre midfield this season, so would definitely have to bring someone in and I doubt we could sign anyone at the level he is at now.
  25. Not aimed solely at you but...... So, test everybody required for a match day behind closed doors - before and after every match. How many people is that? Random guess 150 -200? Then you need to take into account that these tests are not 100% accurate, so would really need to test everyone twice? Would the pre-match tests be done in the stadium? Maybe too late if yes. So, before they set off for the stadium? How would this be done for stadium staff, officials, etc? Maybe the away team could be tested at their hotels? But then wouldn't you also have to test everyone who was working in the hotel also? And all this testing, training (or are they going to test all players/coaches every day before and after training as well?), briefings, etc conducted with social distancing? So how many tests would have to be conducted to just hold one match? 500? 800? Multiplied by how many remaining throughout all of the 4 professional divisions? Who is going to pay for these tests? Who is going to analyse them? Wouldn't those tests be put to better use on doctor's, nurses, etc?
