Not at all. In fact I think the whole 'loaning' system/rules should be revised. I don't think teams should be allowed to loan players to other teams in their division. Doing so gives them an advantage in that the loaned player can play against all their competitors, but not them. I think only players aged 23 and under should be able to be loaned out, purely for developmental purposes. As well as having a limit (2 players max) on how many players a club can bring in on loan, there should also be a limit as to how many they can have out on loan (I would set it at 5). All of this would stop clubs from 'stockpiling' players; especially younger ones.

The person I quoted stated that Long was non-performing at the end of last season. That clearly is untrue. That's all I was saying. However, Long is one of many who have performed better under Ralph. Or do you deny that?
-
I give you Austin, but how is scoring 4 in the last 7 matches 'non-performing' for Long?

Sell MT for 10m; sign Maehle for 12m to provide competition/cover at RB and LB.

Good to hear. Hope he keeps it up. Might get a decent fee for him if other clubs are watching.

That was cruel. Deserved from that match. 2 cracking goals. 2 pens not given to us; a soft one given to them. Good pen save from Gunn. Thought all the players put a shift in. All played well. Hard to pick a MoM, all have a good shout for it.

Hard to find any pitch to train on here at this time of year. Although there is a dome I have played in during winter, and it is certainly COLD in there! Nice idea though.

Excellent team performance. A very well earned point and we could have snatched all 3 with a bit of luck. Chelsea had to revert to nasty and cheating tactics in an attempt to win the match. Absolutely every player did their bit today; not a single poor performance. However, the standout ones were Yoshida, Vestergard, Gunn, and Armstrong (especially 2nd half). I also thought Valery had a very good first half. MoM - Maya Yoshida

My 10 y.o. grandson loved it.

My 4th visit to SMS this season. 1st time I didn't come away thinking we should have won the match; moreover, 1st time I thought we were completely outplayed and devoid of any attacking threat. Unfortunately, I once again witnessed a completely incompetent performance from a referee. Given the time of year and number of matches being played I was surprised that there was only the one, enforced, change to the team. Unsurprisingly this meant no energy, no pressing and a real lack of ideas. After, fortunately, going into half-time all level but very outplayed I had expected a change or two and different formation for the second half, but it didn't happen. Also thought the substitutions, when they eventually came, were very ineffective. Hopefully the manager has learnt a lot from his and the team's dire performance last night.

After beating Chelsea last time out, Leicester are giving Citeh a good run for their money (watching it on a Russian channel). Puel has got them playing some nice football.

You do realise that there are other levels of football where a player could be a professional other than the premier league? And just because (in your opinion) a certain player does not exhibit the skills (you believe) are required for a starting place in a premier league team they are a long way off of doing so and will never make it as a professional player... okay then.....

Ebenezer Cobb Morley 187 today......... well ok would have been!
Minsk replied to John Boy Saint's topic in The Saints
A couple of my favourite ever Saints players surely would: Mark Dennis and Jimmy Case; Franny and Terry Hurlock would fit in too. -
They are on general sale. You can buy them online. https://tickets.saintsfc.co.uk/PagesPublic/ProductBrowse/StandAndAreaSelection.aspx?stadium=GP&product=PA18EV&campaign=&type=H&productsubtype=AWAY&productIsHomeAsAway=N

No we aren't 'in the exact same position as we were in Jan'. We have a different manager who will play with a different set-up and approach to matches. We are also starting on exactly the same amount of points as every other team; not trailing behind most of them. Austin was out injured in Jan; hopefully he will be fit to start the season. Gallagher was out on a season's long loan (i.e. we were unable to recall him); currently he is still at Saints. So, far from being 'in the exact same position as we were in Jan'. Oh, and the transfer window hasn't closed yet. I do understand that you like to use 'sensational diatribe' in your continual slagging of SFC (i.e. the circa 100k thing you keep peddling, despite knowing full well it is below 100k; why not use circa 90k or circa 80k? - answer because it is better to use circa 100k when trying to bash the club). Obvious troll is obvious. And it's a shame because you do, at times, write some decent posts on here.

No, for two reasons: 1. It has happened before 2. It can't happen in the PL as it is against their rules I can't see this being any more than loan. But, even so, I hope it comes off and FF comes into good form during that time. That would make it easier for him to get a permanent move at the end of it.

Manchester clubs to finish first and second, again Neither Liverpool or Spurs to win anything, again Saints to finish 9th-11th Leicester and Puel to finish above Saints, again Saints to be the highest placed southcoast club, again Cardiff, Watford and Brighton to go down

I'd be happy to see Antonio back at Saints too.

Bertie and Cedric are secured for another season. What makes you think they aren't (aside from Alpineitis?) Can you you attach some links of rumours that either are likely to be off? Also, even he were to go, what would Cedric leaving have to do with us keeping Targett? Aside from that (and the fact that Cedric most likely won't be back until the end of the month anyway) we cannot make loans to other PL clubs after 9th August. To Championship ones yes, and we will still be able to sell them abroad, but not to PL clubs.
-
I wouldn't be adverse to us loaning them Targett for the season. I really think that it could be of benefit to all involved. MT would get an entire season's experience in the prem; we could see how good, or not, he is with regular starts in the prem; Fulham will only have to pay a loan fee (and wages) instead of a transfer fee.

Indeed, it has been alive (in existence) longer than the football team who currently play their home matches at Fratton Park. And has provided far more entertainment!

It makes a change for you to want to talk about football. I'm with you in wanting Belgium to win. Mainly because, if we get there, I couldn't handle England losing the final to the French.

My daughter sometimes likes to come to St Mary's with me, and she really enjoyed watching the Colombia match - although got very stressed during the penalty shoot-out. But I wouldn't say she is really in to football. However, I have a couple of nieces who are season-ticket holders; one of whom also has her FA coaching badges and manages a local team. She is certainly more knowledgeable about Saints, and football in general, than many who post on here. Oh, and she looks far more like an average Swedish female football fan than an English one. Mrs Minsk is Belorusian and has only ever been to a couple of international matches with me; but she has really got into this World Cup (supporting England first, Russia second). I think it's great that she's getting more into football, not that she has ever complained about me watching every match possible - whether it be on TV, online or going to a stadium.

Why wouldn't we want two competent 'keepers challenging for a place in the team? Did I miss the vote/award of player of the season? I don't remember one happening. Who won the YPOTS?
