  1. Favourite moment of his here.
  2. Great goal from Cattermole yesterday, a player I've always said we should sign.
  3. Good to see him make his premier league debut yesterday and according to MOTD did a good job when he came on. Not the greatest player to ever play in a saints shirt but I was a fan of his in l1 and the championship and an important but unsung part of our rise. Dd the job he had to do well and always felt he was one we should have kept for our first season back up, to do exactly what he did for Leicester yesterday.
  4. We are still looking at wide players and a right back so by the end of the window hopefully those two will be ticked off depth wise. You can't really say long has replaced Osvaldo as he hardly featured from November onwards, when Rodriguez is back we will be well placed up front, for a club of our size Pelle, Long and Rodriguez with Gallagher as the young hungry and guaranteed to improve youngster is pretty strong. Midfield we look strong with a number if options and hopefully Reed will come on this season. Last season we had no cover for Shaw really either so although Bertrand isn't as good as Shaw, not many are, depth wise we are exactly the same, although arguably Targett might feature more. Same goes for centre back positions, same depth but a bit lower on quality as its a big ask expect Gardos to be as good as Lovren straight away. I've not see much of Tadic and nothing of gardos so although they both have big boots to fill with the players they have replaced its too early to judge them. From what I've read about Tadic would could have got something of a coup there. So overall as a squad I would say we are stronger up front, in midfield and in goal, but weaker at the back both In terms of quality and depth.we are however a lot stronger than the squad in our first season up which finished 15th, so talk of relegation is well wide of the mark.
  5. Our first XI isn't as good, that's understandable as we lost 4 champions league level players but we have more depth. We are rebuilding and will probably finish somewhere between 11th-15th. Next season we'll have a couple more additions and will be back in the top half.
  6. Such negativity Colin. We were told on here, even in out league one days, that to make the champions league you don't need to spend billions, you just need dreams and ambition. Are you suggesting all those that said this were talking bol+ocks?
  7. 'The majority of fans have been brilliant, very supportive' Must only be here where the majority are bed wetting divs then.
  8. Is it still time to protest? Are the board still asset stripping? Are they all tossers?
  9. One Kelvin Davis, there's only one Kelvin Davis clap clap clap clap Came from here.
  10. That's funny Les. Earlier you said teams worked it out quickly, it was easy to play against and our only tactic. Koeman is far superior tactically etc. Make your mind up squire.
  11. It was you who said the smaller teams worked us out! The facts are that they didn't, we won 12 in 20 against the bottom ten, we won 3 in 18 against the top 10. It's pretty clear where the vast majority of our points came from last season. And our defeat against villa was due to individuals errors and the calamity keeper than our tactics being found out.
  12. We won 12 and drew 4 in the 20 games against bottom half teams. We lost at home to cardiff and Vila. Villa we had 70% possession and they scored 3 goals from 3 shots on target. That's hardly a team who had been worked out by the lesser lights of the divison. What you think you saw isn't bore out by facts.
  13. Another mongboard myth that we got found out by smaller teams, we only lost 4 times against teams in the bottom ten, as has been said villa was more down to personal and bad luck, lots of injuries, 70% possession and they had 3 shots and scored 3 times. Our results in the main against teams below was excellent, it was against teams above us where wee struggled at times. Still, don't let facts get in the way of a myth.
  14. 3 points against everyone would be nice.
  15. Laughable as usual Les. The bigger teams were too arrogant to adapt their play to suit us were they? Maybe it was Pochettino who was too arrogant to adapt his tactics to play them. A quick look at last season results show just 3 wins against team in the top 10, so maybe they were right not to adapt their tactics against little old southampton. What i saw in his time here was when it worked we were brilliant at times when it didn't he never changed it, just making like for like changes with subs. It may be due to a lack of quality in the squad as whilst our first 11 was excellent we lacked depth, or If its because Pochettino lacked the tactical awareness or was too stubborn to adapt his tactics when it wasn't working we shall soon see. Love how you've already declared Koeman far superior already before we've even kicked a ball, along with your usual chip on the shoulder carry on about big clubs. Tsk Les, it's the sort of behaviour of Man who would rip up his season ticket in a rage.
  16. Almost churchillian in the inspirational stakes,.
  17. Clubs might now be realising its a good idea to have 2 good keepers, all three relegated teams were arguably stronger int he goalkeeping department last season than we were, that doesn't mean they'll all be rotating them week in week out. Still It's going well for you this isn't it. One club for one season in the entire world football have rotated two experienced keepers. Keep 'em coming.
  18. Typical hysterical tarts screaming and crying like spoilt brats pal.
  19. And those of us who were calm and stuck by the club have been proven right.
  20. the significant difference being a as ferguson said, both keepers were inexperienced so he was doing it to give them that experience. Are you suggesting that Boruc is inexperienced? Keep 'em coming.
  21. So no examples then. Case closed.
  22. I thought you said the club was a joke?
  23. So in the last 40 odd years we can find one , perhaps two example of it being a good idea to rotate keepers. Case closed.
  24. 4-4-2 is the future. Two men to put pressure on the three centre backs, a couple of pacy widemen to get in behind the wing backs. Some tactical genius will come up with that this season just you wait and see.
