Turkish replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
is 6th still a realstic target? -
As it stands, do we have a better midfield than Utd?
Turkish replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Well do we??! -
Perhaps not, but even so our one win in our last 9 games came due to a last minute penalty. this doesnt sound like "the next level" to me.
-
I thought he made a good start and in the first 5 or 6 games he was here we looked good. High energy, creative. We seem to have regressed though, since the Reading game our play seems to be getting slower and slower in our ball movement and decison making, we cant break teams down and it's all very well saying the new players havent settled in yet, but he simply isn't getting the best out of the likes of Lallana, lambert and Ramirez that were already here either. OUr away form isn't too bad, probably due to us being tighter at the back, but are you seriously telling me you are happy with 4 points and 3 goals from home games against West Ham x 2, Sunderland, Stoke and WBA?

One win in nine games, which came from a debatable last minute penalty. This, depsite your claims we are playing so much better due to more shots at goal, what am i missing?
-
A bit like Olallanas constant claims that we are doing great because we're having so many shots at goal
-
Yep, one win, courtesy of a debatable last minute penalty is shocking considering the teams we have played in those games. People keep saying that we'll do better against the better teams but i'm not sure relying on winning against the likes of Chelsea, Man United and City is a good idea.
-
Hopefully this campaign will remind them how offended they are.
-
I think you're much better at just posting links to things and groundhog day pictures rather than giving an opinion on anything.
-
Personally i'd expect a £15m international striker to be putting away chances like that.
-
Ahh okay, its becoming clearer. You'd do what has only been done on a couple of occasions since Rodriguez has been here and play him up front alone, something MP has never done and you'd leave Lambert on the bench, because he wouldn't have started anyway, that would have been Rodriguez. Gottcha.
-
He did what every good keeper would do and made himself big hoping to get something on it, Osvaldo effectively hit it straight down the middle straight at him, either side of the keeper it's a goal or going to take a superb goal line clearance. It was a bad miss rather than a great save.
-
ahh okay, So Osvaldo is replacing Lambert in your starting line up then. Just as i thought.
-
Sorry chaps, maybe im misreading your posts. If Osvaldo hadn't signed who would be playing where you have put him in your matchday XIs?
-
I can confirm that Richards are generally fit, well dressed, attractive and confident men with GSOHs and very popular with the ladies, so are often confused for homosexuals.
-
and widely agreed that his return to the side coincided with our upturn in form.
-
I agree, the Schnerlin one where it bounced off the turf was a good save, Osvaldos was a bad miss and he simply dived and spread himself like any keeper would, hoping it would hit him, the one from Lambert was routine and made to look good for the cameras.
-
i think you're probably right, there is nothing wrong with shutting up shop and being difficult to beat away from home and to be fair our away form isnt' too bad under him. It's at home where we need to break teams down that we struggle. We haven't wont at home since we beat Chelsea, 4 draws at home against West ham x 2, Sunderland and Stoke and a hammering against WBA are simply not good enough.
-
It wasn't particularly directed at you, more of a general comment that when i suggested the player people were begging to sign would replace their hero i was told i was trolling, people were indignant that this would never happen, yet only a few weeks later a large number of people seem to be suggesting just this happens.
-
statisitcally two of our 25 man squad are going to be gay, so who are they?
-
So when a few weeks ago i was shouted down for mentioning the irony that on the day Lambert made his England debut and fans were on here saying how proud they were of him, yet at the same time practically begging the man who could well be his replacement to sign, i was actually right. Those that said i was talking bo*llocks and trolling were actually wrong as both the posts so far are saying Osvaldo should replace Lambert in the starting line up.

Its a good job all these groups and celebrities are there to keep telling us all these problems exist in football otherwise none of us would be aware of them.
-
Well he did that to a tee didn't he. Despite what a lot of the divs on here say, he is a very good manager with a good record. He's teams might not be attractive but they get results.

Reading (A) West Ham (H) Swansea (A) West Brom (H) Tottenham (A) Sunderland (A) Stoke (H) West Brom (A) Sunderland (H) Norwich (A) West Ham (H) Does anyone actually think a win against an awful Reading and a last minute, debatable penalty win against WBA and only 7 goals scored is an acceptable return from the list of fixtures above?
-
Wanyama will be good for games where we dont have a lot of the ball and need to win it back, but yesterday where we had lots of possesion he was awful. Poor first touch, slow and pondourous and gave the ball away cheaply so many times.
