Which are you better off with? I now have to option of company car after being on an allowance for years. I currently get £450 a month allowance and 38p a mile fuel allowance. Or I can have a new/nearly new 3 series or A4 and 16p a mile but obviously no service, tax or insurance to pay. What are the implications tax wise and what am I better off with financially? Assuming if i opt in I could sell my own car and settle the finance on it.

Do you think players get advised not to look on this forum?
Turkish replied to ashleyb5443's topic in The Saints
I think the players probably do. The level of tactical genius, in depth knowledge of football finances and not forgetting the ambition and passion show by the 'man on the moon' brigade would act as an inspiration to any talented footballer. In fact mongbsords seem to be an untapped market that Soccerball club would do well to recruit from when looking for coaches, tactical gurus, motivational speakers and financial expects. -
Th best Centre half since Svenson. Really good player and I fully expect some of the bigger clubs to come calling for him.

Debate needed on veils in some public places, says minister

Very true Jamie. If I saw a Jewish person be racially abused using the word yid, the very least the abuser can expect from me is a foam hand slapped round his cannister. -

Its great that you don't, but surely if some people feel threatened by it then we need to consider them and react accordingly. -
BUt based simply on "good performances" or in your world more shots at goal than our opponents, we would finish lower in the table than we would based on "not so good performances" ie - less shots at goal than our opponents.
-
Well as has already been commented on, i'd rather have two shots at goal from 6 yards out than 25 from 40 yards out. So it's a case of quality as well as quantity isnt it. Now, what is working better for us, 3 points from 2 games where we had LESS shots at goal or 2 points from 2 games where we had more?
-
If we hadn't got that debatable late penalty at WBA then it would have been a very poor start indeed and 10 games without a win including the end of last season.

Accurancy, quality of shot at goal are important factors, Olallana seems to think it's just the amount.

So far this season we have played four games, had most shots at goal in two of them and taken 2 points from those games. In the other two games we have had less shots at goal and taken 3 points from them. So which is working better for us?
-
Which is better, 3 points from 2 games or 2 points from 2 games? Quite simple, if we use your logic and do it based on performances, we finish the season on 38 points and in a relagation battle, if we do it results then we finish on 57 points and near the top 8. Still you keep trotting out your mantra that all that matters when guaging a performance is shots at goal.
-
oh no i knew which ones they were, i wanted you to confirm. So just to confirm then, the game where we had less shots at goal than the oppositon we won, the two games where we didn't we failed to win. Not gone very well for you has it.
-
he was rubbish yesterday, but i do think there is a good player in there. He's very much a cofidence player and like last season needs a goal or two to get him going.
-
so which were the two games where we had more shots at goal than the opposition?

Who has made the squad Steve? -
He was fit enough to play against Leeds in the league cup and Chelsea in the FA Cup as well as a number of U21 games. I can see where you're coming from though, obviously if a manager doesn't pick a player and loans him out then he rates him and despite his glorrious return to favour didnt feature in the 18 yesterday either, it makes perfect sense.

ON the "thriller for his dinner" thread i chose a different tactic which is why you might be scoring it different. I usually like to go on the front foot and batter the opponent into submission, on this occasion i was "floating like a butterfly" and letting John Boy unleash windmill and windmill, i'd duck out the way and my distance offering the occasional counter but in the main went for a points victory. I am withour doubt the best pound for pound poster on here and arguably the greatest of all time.

Which ones were they?

and you've been repeating the mantra ever since. We're still having more shots at goal, we're not winning. Do you still think we are doing so much better? I realise it must be pretty embarassing for you given your passionate defence of MP.

We didn't win any of our last 6 either, is this top 6 form?
