Several on here seemed to believe a 4th place finish would enable that to happen, ie be 'the gateway' your own definition of 'kicking on' or 'progress' has proven this. So cup success would be seen as progress would it??!! And then after finishing fourth we'd be looking at cup success and then win the premier league and champions league run.
