utterly superb and dispatched the second best team in Europe with ease. With our super chairmans vision and the investment we have seen and been promised into our academy with the aim of being that they fill the first team in years to come were we watching tonight a glimpse into what the future holds for SFC?? Unrealistic you say? Well yes, maybe to think we would spank the English champions with such ease but what we saw tonight was what can be achieved with players with the right grounding. A fantastic style of football coupled with a team ethic and a real comaradere amougst the squad, they clearly played for each other. Whats to stop us picking up the best young English players, schooling them and coaching them, developing that same team spirit and togetherness and developing what our super chairman has already called "The Southampton Style"? I am certainly starting to buy into the dream. Could we be the English Barcelona? No one else has done it. Why cant we?

Does it say more about the ambition of WBA and Yeovils board though? The fact they've been able to obtain a glamour friendly against the new Barcelona and Ac Milan and Bayern haven't? I think we might be witnessing the start of a shift in the power of European football.

I agree Jamie and am seriously underwhelmed but WBA and Yeovil. Playing Barcelona, AC Millan etc now would be give the players extra motivation and would also be good preperation for when we are in the champions league.

One of Corteses yes men who i think under the old regime used to work in the club shop (although that might be the other one whose name escapes me for now, Leighton something?) He's has achieved celebrity status though due to some of the mugs on here hanging onto his every word and wetting themselves everytime he puts something on twitter.
-
He'd make a great central midfield partnership with Scott Parker.

Welcome back. Where have you been? I've missed you.

A lot average premier league can have a blinding season as a one off but how do you propose we do what Everton & Villa, both bigger clubs than us, have failed to do and consitantly stay in the top 6?
-
Not according to some on here, all we need is a good manager and a good academy. We dont need to spend hundreds of millions on transfers and hundreds of thousands per player per week on wages. If it's that easy why isn't everyone doing it FFS?
-
Do you mean as a one (or two off in a couple of instances) off like these examples or consistantly?

As someone who has made it my business to be offended for others, i find this offensive Jamie.

I think we all know that the deal for the Lowe takeover wasn't done for the best interests of the club, it was done for the best interests of Askham and Co. If rumours are true and Gavin Davies and his consortium tried to buy the club than there it was a no brainer as to which deal on the table was best.

Please explain.

Agree that after their first two albums the following ones were never as good, but the first two were arguably up there in the top 10 or 20 albums of all time, hell of a lot to live up to. Definitely Maybe is almost flawless and What's the Story is absolutely brilliant. The following albums whilst not as good have some great songs on them, some weak ones as well but people forget about those and always say "they weren't as good as the first two albums". In fact, The Masterplan, which was an album of B sides, is also a superb album. IMO they've produces 3 great albums and a number of great singles. These songs are superb but were on albums which were criticised for not being as good as the first two F*ckin' in the Bushes Go Let it out Gas Panic Where did it all go wrong? Sunday Morning call The Hindu Times Stop Crying your heart out Little By Little Turn Up the Sun Mucky Fingers The Importance of Being Idle Lord Dont Slow Me Down The Shock of the Lightening

£750 for a season ticket works out at £32 a game, as this is likely dicounted price, non season ticket holders at Leeds can expect to pay around £38 a match next season for Championship football, an absolute disgrace.

Plus we could sing that inspired song the scoucers sing about him, to the tune of Doe a Dear. N'Gog, N'Gog, N'Gog, N'Gog, N'Gog He tucks his cock, into his sock. Great signing for this reason alone.

Dont be ridiculous, he knows everything.

That's the thing people fail to get, he doesn't claim to. I've never seen a quote from him claiming that he does either. Steve Grant, Steve Goodwin, Jason McFeat and that short ginger one whose name escapes me (mike something?) all give comments to the echo it's just their view on any given subject they've been asked about, they dont get any of the grief Nick does. None of them "speak for the fans" it's just their view.

No infraction points!!! As for the IBO, that was formed by a group of people who take the internet far too seriously, a bit like a lot on here so i'm sure many from here would fit in no problem. In short they were okay to dish out abuse but when they got it back they went crying to Nick with a list of conditions they wanted him to apply (including banning some people, i believe, who they had ironically been abusing themselves) or they were going to disapear off into the sun set and set up their own forum. It seems too ridiculous to believe but when you see quotes on the IBO forum with people saying things like "i had had enough of the UI forum and this place gave me hope" It gives you an idea of the mentality of the people that use it. It sounds more like a rehab clinic than an internet football forum to me. But to some people, the internet and specifically football forums = serious business
