Is it sport when you start every season where the only aim is to scramble enough points together to stay in a competition you have no chance of winning? Where all the odds are stacked hugely in the favour of the clubs with the most money and where most of the owners of clubs are only interested in how much profit they can make? You have your reasons for watching football and to be fair these days going to a match for me is either going to my local league two club as my son is in their academy or going to watch saints to catch up with some old friends with a day out on the beers. For most people i know quite often the football, despite being what brought us together, was often the worst part of the day, as for a club like Saints we have little chance of being competitive in this so called sport.

There haven't been any new variants for a while which is a surprise given the amount people have been travelling of late. Although i guess with the fuel scaremongering and energy bills skyrocketing there is enough bad news for the media to revel in for now.

Just being part of a league isn’t something that is a wonderful achievement. Well it is if all you care about is being part of the brand. I think it’s boring as fuck and not what sport should be, certainly it wasn’t why anyone of my age group fell in love with game. I’m sure there will be people telling me how it’s not the 80s anymore and must move with the times that the premier league is the place to be and not being in it will damage our finances but if you think that then you're a football consumer not a saints fan.

A stadium 3/4 full with people paying top whack just to enjoy being part of the premier league is what they want and it's what they've got.

Not sure it's a positive message, it's an anti negative message. A positive message would have been "Welcome in Southampton LGBT+" "Southampton embraces our LGBT+ Friends" Whilst well intentioned it sends out more of a negative spin in that it's saying what people shouldn't do, not what they should do. In truth it's entry level marketing, not punchy enough and doesn't really resonate with it's intended audience.

A service based diversity business is an absolute money spinner. Much like the health and safety paranoia that sets in with every company after a disaster means they’ll spend a fortune on these sort of things to appear to be doing the right thing. When I set up my diversity consultantancy business not only will be take full advantage of this gap in the market we would name and shame every company who we approach who refused to deal with us, claiming they are not interested in diversity. I reckon the sun or mail would be pay a fortune for a list of companies and individuals who declined to work with a company specialising in diversity and promotion of equal rights and pay for all groups.

Embarrassing post. The xG concept is pretty simple. As is the fact that football like most things is cyclinical unfortunately it’s you that hilarious if you really believe that these wonder tacticians are completely reinventing the wheel when they come up with a new system that’s never even been seen before in 100 odd years of professional football

Like most things these days, these silly games have given geeks a voice and they think they’re experts. Push and run, the W formation, inside forwards, wingless wonders, total football, even the big man up top in a 4-4-2 were once consider the work of tactical geniuses. I remember in 1986 or so when Sheffield Wednesday beat us 3-0 at the Dell after they got promoted with their direct football everyone saying they’d never seen anything like it. There is nothing new just a copy or variation of stuff that’s gone before with a rebranding. The difference is now every little drip with an internet connection is an expert because they did alright on FM19

It looks pretty shit to be honest. Not much difference between standing in a seat. Also not too sure about beer being back in the grounds. Will have too many helmets who can’t handle their beer getting lagging or throwing it around around everywhere. Especially with our great fans who will no doubt find it hilarious to finish the game covered in beer calling it banter rather than behaving like a complete crumpet

Exactly. The new lot thing with their silly names they’ve invented something new. It’s all just reinvention with fashionable names for everything that’s gone before. Imagine the excitement when a sweeper becomes fashionable again and gets renamed as something trendy, a false 5 playing in a deep lying against the ball channel or some other bollocks. Yet they all think these modern ideas are something special and they are superior to anyone that played the actual frigging game at a decent level
