Okay cheers, thought it sounded a bit far fetched.
  2. Yes that gutting, my local team is Harrogate Town, i go there are fair bit now. They are having their best ever season, 2nd in the conference 3 points behind top with them to play at home in a few weeks and in the semi final of the FA Trophy. The double was most definitely on and promotion to L2 would be incredible. It is the right thing to do though.
  3. multiply that by a few thousand and it would make a difference though wouldnt it.

Wasn’t there something in the media this week that 50% of people in the UK have already contracted it but either didn’t know or fought off the very mild symptoms they had

Probably tax income, but they know that English people will go mad for it, especially as a lot of people will be bored so crack open a beer or bottle of wine early in the day. Although the other view is that people will want some pleasure whilst stuck in their houses and a lot get that from having a drink.

As a wise man once said, the saddest thing i've ever seen is smokers outside the hospital doors.

It really isn't. But like i said, it comes down to people taking responsibility for their health too, like you say many dont.
  11. it is true, because he talks about it a lot and i know what day rate he charges.
  12. It does make me laugh how some self employed people are complaining. There are without doubt a lot of genuine people who are worried and thats fair enough. I know a bloke who runs a kitchen fitting business, he earns about £60k a year but every year boasts about how little tax and NI he's paid, apparently his books have shown as little as £18k some years, now he's complaining there is no help for self employed people. Of course that's just one example and i reminded him when he was whinging about it last week which he didn't like, but sadly truth hurts.

Apparently 50% of adults in this country are on some sort of medication. the UK spends over £5b a year treating type 2 diabetes alone, with medication. It's a dietry illness. Change the diet, cut out processed food, get some excercise lose weight (10-15% of body fat is the recomended figure) and it proven that in the majority of cases it goes away. They are facts. But it comes down to people actually doing it and taking responsibility for their own health. To me the answer is simple with diabetes is this, the first treatment should always be diet and excercise, if they lose a lot of weight but still cant shake it off, lose more weight, if they do then and only then prescribe medication as a control not a cure. You could probably cut 60% off the diabetes bill doing just that, but doctors just give a pill and patients think the pill is the cure, it isn't, it helps or a short time but then they need more as they become resistant, which is why none of them lose weight and their condition gets worse over time.

I think i said on another thread i've seen a few talks and listen to a pod cast by an NHS doctor in Manchester. He says that GPs are too quick to give a prescription and that is what people expect, its crippling the NHS. He says 80% of the patients he sees can sort their issues out with a lifestyle change, diet, more exercise, meditation that sort of thing and claims to have resolved many cases of depression, diabetes and other chronic illnesses that way. If you could get even 40% of people treated that way, plus less priority to time wasters it'd sort a lot of things out. Before people get outraged, there are obviously a number of genuine cases of depression and anxiety but i've seen it first hand with even members of my own family and company going to the doctors because they feel a bit down after a bad few weeks, the sort of stress most of us have to deal with at some point in our lives. Of course they feel down, they've sat in the house for a week telling themselves how depressed or stressed they are and how terrible everything is. I agree with the doctor and all the evidence says he's right, a lot of the things causing a huge burden on the NHS can be resolved by people taking responsibility for their own health.
  16. A lot of what he says is actually true, he just goes about it all wrong. He was a **** yesterday when Matt Hancock was in, he’s ask a question and within seconds be talking over him.

You won’t find a single person who would say NHS cuts are a good thing. If you can be bothered there are plenty of articles you can find which show how labour made significant cuts and misspending on the NHS too, but let’s ignore all that and pretend it’s just the tories. Who while we’re t it should Jane had a crystal ball to know what impact cuts in 2012 would have in a situation in March 2020.

Maybe they do, maybe he could have done better. He’s not got everything right, but who would have? He’s obviously listening to experts not just deciding to do what he wants. No one has been in this situation before and it’s very easy to say he should be doing this and that. Like everything is this frigging country these days there is always someone moaning that they’re little group have been missed out. Is it really nessasary to remind people all the time that the tories have done this that and the other in the past? That what I’m seeing a lot of on social media. People shouldn’t give a sh1t about past, we don’t have a global pandemic now because of something the tories did 8 years ago.

Anyone who constantly looks to bash the government at the moment is a helmet. People should put political leanings to one side and get in with it, just like brexit, rather than want it all to wrong so they can be proven right.

No I wouldn’t. If Corbin did a good job I’d say it. Unlike some I’m not blinded by cult like loyalty to one or the other parties. I just happened to think Corbyn is one of the worst political Leaaders of all time and the county seemed to ageee with me as the lost to landslide to one of the worst Tory parties ever.

People are think and ignorant. They reallY need to spelling out to them it’s quite pathetic really. The worst thing about all this is the amount of people desperate to bash the government whatever they do. I genuinely think some wish that this gets worse so they can say they told you so that the government got it wrong.
