  1. It's too long to do so it written across 9 pages 142-151 if anyone wants to read them. The opening paragraph where he goes into it says "there is a lot of critisism right of of the southanpton academy for going after players who are predominately young, white centre midfield players who can control a game"
  2. Reading the new book and he claims saints academy is the subject of a lot of criticism inside football for interesting reasons. The back ground is that there is an unspoken theory in the premier league that black players are not trusted with roles that require intelligence and discipline such as a 'tempo' midfielder. He says that if you look at the evidence to support the theory then it tends to back it up. Of the players who are the tempo/passing players in the premier league they are almost without exception white, Carrick, Fabregas, Cazorla, Coutinho, Ramsey, eriksen etc and the black players are used for their pace and power down the wings. In fact even if you look at the likes of Paul Pogba at his best for Juventus wss when he had Pirlo alongside him. What he says saints are being critisised for is that we know what players the likes of man united, Arsenal etc want to buy so we deliberately produce or sign ball playing white midfielders or quick and/or powerful black players as we know we can sell them on as it fits the racial typecast that runs through the premier league right now. So what do we make of this? Are saints stereotyping in their recruitment? Are we not signing white wingers or black midfield play makers due to some underlying racial prejudice that white players provide the intelligence and the blacks the pace or power? You've got to say on the evidence of the players that have been signed and come through the academy of late then he might have a point. Before anyone suggests this is my view or a racist post I've repeated what is in the book The Secret Footballer Access all areas.

  5. Same old mongboard always whinging
  6. Minimum of one extra game
  7. We get a by in the second round of the league Cuo so its actually only one game more than before Christmas last year. Yet people are wetting themselves because we got so many games to play. One frigging game more than last season, one.
  8. No surprises there. This is the club where a lot of its fans turned It's back on its greatest and most loyal player because a little Italian bloke told them what they wanted to hear.
  9. hi Ralph.

  11. Saint86 is right, we wanted both. We would have brought them both in last summer if things had worked out. As it was we missed out on Alderweireld so brought caulker in. He was to be groomed as the long term successor to Fonte and it was felt with a bit of time under Koeman he could develop into a top class centre half, however his off the field problems as well as general work ethic meant that the club were thankful we only for him on loan.
  12. Yet 99% of your posts are either moaning, very boring or very serious. Not quite sure I've ever seen your having a laugh routine. Although it may be your humour is lost on me and you're sitting behind your laptop right now lolling uncontrollably at all the hilarious stuff you've posted.
  13. Yet again you show that you don't know what you're talking about. Oldknow was originally brought to the club by Jim Hone and he was actively involved in trying to find new investors for most of his time here. Liebherrs advisors were one of many he spoke to during his time here. He was brought back to the club by Markus when the deal for him to buy us went though. He left for the second time in about 6 months later as Cortese didn't want him around, he saw his as a threat, funny how most other senior employees didn't last long either when Cortese was here. I remember this being dismiss I here them not being good to work with him at the time You may like my view on what went on when your boy was here but it's all true as many others have confirmed.
  14. Another myth I'm afraid. Cortese gave himself the credit for introducing the club to Markus but the reality was that it Markus was already looking for a club to buy and and there wer numerous other people involved in setting this up far move involved that the dwarf was. Andy Oldknow for example did a great job of selling the club to Libherr and was rewarded with a on the board when the deal went through. Cortese soon dispensed with his services as he was getting in the way of his plan to have total control on the club. Pluto is right, Cortese did a lot of harm to the club when he left. Just coincidence that those very same journalists who wrote gushing articles about us when Cortese was here turned on the club the moment he left? I think not. The way he ran the finances after Markus death was shameful. I often spoke out about this the whole time he was here and was accused of trolling. Funnily enough Cortese still hasn't started his job at AC Milan despite them supposedly courting him the whole team he was here. Instead his sitting back counting his millions he took from us and laughing at how he managed to dupe an entire city into believing he was the messiah when in reality he was an angry little man out of his depth running up someone else's credit card.
  15. I'm on the 11.30 from manchester on match day, arrives in Milan at 2.50. Drop bag at hotel and then out and about so should be una Birra Giseppe by 4.30. Fingers crossed no flight delays.
  16. Absolute quality group. Really happy with that draw.
  17. and the winner of patronising post of the year goes too...... FRIENDLYSAINT For his claims that people who hear stuff on the telly and repeat it verbatim on mongboards in a desperate attempt to appear they know what they are talking about and anyone that doesn't deeply analyse tactics, positions and formations has no greater knowledge of the game than a small child. Excellent work sir and well desrved.
  18. A little bit of advise pal, when you hear someone describe someone as a "number 10" or a "false 9" or anything like this then it means they are a complete and utter crumpet and you shouldn't engage any further with them on any subject. The term came straight for the helmets who also invented terms like False 9 and say things like "tekkers". What it is is an attacking midfielder.
  19. We've won it 3 times, we've won it 3 times The profit transfer window trophy We've won it 3 times Your business model is unstainable (You're so sh*t it's unbelievable) Our balance sheet, is better than yours Our balance sheet is better than yours We've got a transfer window net profit Our balance sheet is better than yours (I've got a shed that's bigger than this) Any more?
  20. "he was entitled to go down" When there is a touch on a player in the penalty area. no he wasn't Since when was football a non contact sport?
  21. When anyone of the golden boys of the premier league makes a sideways 10 yard pass, "Wow, that's a really clever pass, what amazing vision, absolute quality fom xyz....."
  22. It's not real pal.
  23. I've said it before and I stand by it. It's because 90% of the people that post on here are absolutely helmets.
  24. Moans on Sunday morn Todays the day he sworn To sell the best players we no longer own And bring cheap replacements to our home Now he's at the wheel Tell me how does if feel Even though Redmond equalised The system he plays is despised He'll carry on through it all He's Claude Puel
  25. I think you're forgetting that it was posts on here by people like st George that stopped any further sales back in 2014 and pot entirely saved the club.
