Why it is whenever I see a thread from 9-3 I always imagine a man who has drink copious amounts of special brew.
-
Why do you hate to say it? He's clearly a very good player the problem is he's never fit for long and is a bit of prat. He's been very good tonight as have Stones and Bertrand. Apart from the goal I think Rashford has been poor. England bang average again. Dier alongside Wilshire with Lalllana and Dia behind Kane and Vardy is a decent front 6 I think.
-
Scott Marshall was another one, although I would say ecstatic is pushing it when we got him from arsenal for £500k and think we beat a few club for his signature, he'd played a few times for arsenal the previous season when I think they we're champions. he was considered to be quite a signing. IIRC he played twice we lost 3-0 and 4-0, he scored an own goal in both games and was one of the worst players I've ever seen. Remember Jon Gittens? SOld him for £60k, resigned him a few years later for £600k and you could see why all we got was a tenth of what we payed for him straight away.

The best thing about these sort of threads is how many Tobys get themselves at it about them, then accuse others of being tits ? -

Yet we've progressed for two season with a negative net spend. So despite a massive positive net spend being the latest holy grail in mongboardery, the proof is in the pudding, it isn't as important as many of the f*ckwits on here would like it to be.
-
You mean he has periods of good form, yes? A creative footballer having periods of good form where they are confident and free of injury and other periods of a season where they aren't in great form. who'd have thought it.
-
Remember guys it's not guaranteed yet. If we vote to leave Euorpe then our Europa league places drop to drop one as UEFA only give none EU members one place, which will go to Man United as 5th placed side.

What round do the Charity Shield winners enter at?

Anyone else find it amusing that after west ham fans bricked the man United coach they're now relying on those players to do them a favour to make Europe next season?
-
We were told for much of the season that we should wish we were them. We were told that you can't keep selling your best players and improving, in fact that was the opening gambit on many posts in the early weeks of the season as our rebuilt team found its feet. Everton in particular were a shining light as to what we should aspire to be. Is this still the case or do we now accept that as a club we are in great hands, we have a strategy that works and actually other clubs should wish they were us?
-
If there is one thing we have learnt on this incredible journey it's that managers come and go but the relentless pursuit of exercise shows no sign of abating. Th club has a clear strategy and this has given previous and current manager an excellent platform to work on. The year on year progression has continued regardless of players, management, scouts, coaches even chairman. The consistent figure and catalyst of our success is one man, step forward Les Reed, fast becoming the new Ted Bates.

Joey Barton said Everton should go for him on talksport earlier. So the "chatter" he is on about is one Bellend talking nonsense on the radio. Still give Charlie another chance to peddle his agenda.
-
True, if he didn't have them on and he walked around with his head up people might think he was trying to give them a blow job.

Is Cortese going to make a show? Perhaps he'll come along to be chairman of the promotion team, given that without him there wouldn't have been a promotion team. What with him leaving Saints on good terms with his head held high I'm sure he'd love to come and see his old friends and colleagues, not to mention to be able to say a proper goodbye to the fans.

If it's "sensible commentary" or "constructive debating" you're after I'd suggest that this isn't the place for you pal.
-
I'd say this is more apt

The problem is We're never quite sure if it's you posting or your son racing round the desk to login as you when you pop downstairs for a sugar top up. Don't you like your nickname though? I'm quite proud of the Troll fro lim the Tyrol. If you were a wrestler (sumo) it'd be fantastic. "In the red corner, weighing in at 320 ibs, the Troll from the Tyrol, it's alpine Saint"
-
And if we had finished second the troll from The Tyrol would be on here whining that we bottled the league, we'll never win anything etc. But at least we've come a long way since his "we don't belong in the premier league" days.

Virgil van Dijk signs new six-year deal with Saints

Something about les Reed not being able to convince players stay -
That's what literally hundreds of people on here said about a club like saints ever making the champions league without Man city type investment!!
-
I would do but For legal reasons I cannot FURNISH this forum with any further information on the subject,

It wasn't just about results on the pitch though CB fried (lol). Cortese was a great guy off it which is why he was loved so much. There is plenty of evidence of that as well. Take sponsorship of the club shirts, most chairman see this as a way of maximising revenue, getting he best deal possible. Not our wonderful ex leader, he'd let local business sponsor their local team for a fraction of the going rate for a premier league clubs main sponsor. He kindly settled out of court on numerous occasions so small business didn't have to endure the stress of a court hearing and potentially incuring legal costs, even though he was Never wrong. He was a great man manager as well, by openly dismissing the achievments of former players so that the current ones didn't feel the shadow of them looming over them potentially effecting their own performance. He cared about everyone, even the away fans, using the away fund to make visiting Supporters have a fresh and clown evironment to enjoy their visit. A great gesture. Even little things like the car park barriers at the club wishing you to "have a nice day" after you'd inserted your ticket into the machine to leave having just paid a small fee for the honour of visiting his workplace. These things are evidence that not only was the most driven and ambitious chairman football have ever seen he had a very human side and was also a great guy.

You gotta love the helmetry on here. Brilliant reading that despite over the last 7 years not recalling a single person ever saying saints could never make the champions league it's become FACT that many people did state this. Even Jamie/Brett is at despite spending the last 20,000 posts writing off our chances of ever achieving anything of the levels of his fantasy clubs Such as Stoke/Everton/Watford and so on. The fact that Leicester have achieved what has been dubbed in some quarters as the greatest sporting fairy tale of all time means that now this is the norm and anyone can do it. In a season which many have said we have never seen before or will again. A season where all the big clubs have hugely underachieved at the same time as all their stars have aligned at once. Still in the greatest sporting fairly tale of all time and being the first club outside of the top 5 or 6 big boys make the champions league in the last 30 years means all those that said saints couldn't do it were wrong. But hey, we still haven't done it and no one ever said we couldn't. Well done though.
