  1. A good manager working at a toxic club. No leadership from the top down. A group of players who are a bunch of arseholes. Feel sorry for him. It wouldn’t matter who the manager is, they’ve down tooled for the last four managers now, utter scum.
  2. The reality is not a lot. It’s not like the old days of askham where we complain about the chairman and he can step down and be replaced by another local guy. To get Goa our we need to sell and people aren’t queuing up To buy premier league clubs these days I fully expect any Goa out campaign to be quickly extinguished by the club, with banners taken down and any insubordination given banning orders. Much like they’ve ejected loads of itchen north fans for being anything other than happy clappy. it’s almost like Our owner comes from a culture where like it or lump it is a way of life
  3. It’s needs to be remember that the clubs pre tax profits dropped by £8.4m to just £35.2m last accounts so we should expect a lot of belt tightening.

Player of the season so far.
  5. crystal palace, Watford, Burley FFS
  6. Exactly. Yet Newcastle have spent over £00m more than they've earnt since 2014 and they've had a relegation in that too. Newcastle and Leciester both signed players for £40m this summer, yet we have to sell to buy and people say it's all due to agents fees and bonuses Here is the full list https://www.transferleague.co.uk/premier-league-last-five-seasons/transfer-league-tables/premier-league-table-last-five-seasons
  7. Not one of, the lowest spenders, at least in terms of net spend anyway. Every other club who has been in the premier league for 3 years or more has spent at least £50m more than they've generated from sales.
  8. interesting stuff, and had to be done. Who is driving this though? We don't have anyone in management with a clue about football!
  9. Take it we are getting new first team coaches then?
  10. To be blunt you could pick any club, it's just I consider them to be the Saints of the midlands, similar sized city, identical ground, similar history, aside from their one glory season. Burnley, Watford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace, Newcastle, West Ham. All been about similar times to us but all spent at least £50m more than they made from sales.
  11. Sounds perfect, used to working on a small budget, he'll fit right in.
  12. Its interesting to compare our spending to Leciester, almost an identical stadium, almost an identical income, they turned over £158m in 2017/18 v us at £152m, they have received £26m more than us in transfer fees in the last 5 years, £268m v £242m, but have spent £381m in that period v our £243m. So £112m more than they've earnt. Yes they had their one freak season but how is a club with virtually identical income and player sales able to spend so much more than they brought in but we cant?
  13. We are champions league when it comes to all the pointless stuff though. Signing announcements, virtue signalling from the media team, grassing hotlines, cheap beer 2 hours before kick off, pointless and overpriced hospitality areas. It’s almost like they think that should compensate fans for the crap on the pitch.
  14. Someone posted on TUI about stoke to other day and I said exactly that, that we will be in exactly their position in a few years time. We are an absolute shambles with no leadership or direction anywhere in the club, from the chairman to the management to the coaching staff and on the pitch. Unfortunately unless something changes dramatically relegation is inevitable
  15. That's about the size of it. The Chinese, more skint Mike Ashley, simply spend the minimum possible to stay in the league.
  16. Its been this way for 6 years now though. We've always had this propaganda that Saints are a well run club, that we were sustainable. Okay when Cortese was gotten rid of I got that we might have to tighten belts for a couple of years but no more than that. However we are the only club that has made a profit from transfers season after season yet we are still shopping in the bargain basement when times have moved on and £10-£15m doesn't get you Mane, Van Dijk or Wanyama anymore.Yes the last few years we've wasted a lot of money on bad signings, but they've all been paid for by sales. Something is seriously amiss here as it doesn't add up. WE still have to fund transfers from sales, some people try to justify it by saying you have to take into account agents fees, bonuses and national insurance payments, well so does every other club and all of them have made bad signings too, but none of them have funded all buys by sales.
  17. The money came from previous sales of our players. Why are we the only club in the Premier league that has to sell players to buy them, particularly when there were glaring holes in the squad? Yes the defence needed sorting out, but so did they attack.
  18. So exciting times. The new director of football will be appointed today, tomorrow or Friday. Who do we think it will be?
  19. What funds? We need to sell to buy, yet again the only club that has too, but we can’t sell any of them. They only way to get any decent funds in it to see Redmond or potentially Djenpo if he has a good season. Anyway what happened to your mantra of coach, coach, coach? We should buy players because that is spoilt and unnesssary and we aren’t happy with them anyway so coach the ones we’ve got and the kids.
  20. Not surprised, we've got a load of junior coaches. How Kelvin Davis and Dave Watson are first team coaches now is a joke. What's the new bloke like, Richard Kirbichler or whatever it's spelt, the new Danny Rohl. Ralph obviously needs a competent assistant.
  21. Yep, this is true, that's why they aren't bothered about a few thousand empty seats. If they cant get 29,000 people playing £45 each it's better for them than 32,000 sell outs every week at £30 a person. They aren't bothered about the match going fan.
  22. Yes you’re right, I remember that too and we were setting up some academies out there. Didn’t we play a preseason friendly there too and visit Under Armours HQ? Then all of a sudden it was small club, we should be proud of seeing former players go to bigger clubs etc. If Goa managed to convince Kat and the FA he was the right person to take over this club then maybe he is a better sales person than we give him credit for.
  23. You’re right. Remember when West Ham fans stormed the stand at the Olympic stadium? Newcastle fans give Mike Ashley grief every week, they says he’s a tight fisted cockney bas*ard despite the fact they’ve spent £120m more than they’ve made from transfers in the last 5 years when in same time as we’ve made a profit. It’s absolutely laughable that this is put down to agents fees, bonuses and national insurance by the cheerleaders amongst saints fans. Unfortunately as much as Goa and his team seems to be a bunch of jokers we’re stuck with him. It’s not like the days of Guy Askham when he was a local guy who could step down and be easily replaced, To get rid of Goa we need to find a buyer and if he was the best offer on the table last time of the few that were interested we were for sale then heaven knows what the others must have been like.
  24. Listen pal, people on internet forums say that's how it is, so that's how it is. Remember the days when people on this forum said Eric Black was the issue and all we had to do was get rid of him and everything would be great again, we'll we did and...….oh wait.
  25. Hang on, you used to constantly proclaim that we shouldn’t spend money. We should be coaching the ones weve got to improve, you always used to say how terrible it was that we sign players, then when they prove themselves not to be up it fans demand more signings. This was fickle and disgusting and wrong and we should coaching, coaching, coaching. So now you’re saying we should tear that up and that we should be signing players?
