What a guy! Picking the team, choosing the tactics. Training the players, making the signings all along with spending someone elses money like it was a game of monopoly! You can say what you like about Cortese but he was the master as spending money, not quite so hot when it came to making it though. Still when he finally accepts the Ac Milan job they've chased him for since 2010 then we'll no doubt see a similar such upturn in their fortunes!

Isn't it great to see the club doing so well off the pitch. Our last figures showed commercial income was up to £10m. I'd expect to see that figure double now the we've signed 3 large commercial deals recently with Under Armour, the 7th biggest shirt sponsorship deal in the premier league with Virign media and the recent deal with sportpesa with multimillion pound figures muted for that as well. It seems wreck it Ralph is doing a good job on this front and we've come an awful long way since the worlds greatest businessman, the most driven and ambitious CEO who ever lived had to give the shirt sponsorship deal to the largest recruitment consultants in chilworth.

I agree. After 4 years at the club he's no closer to being first choice than when he signed. When McCarthy joins he'll be down to third choice so he's actually further away if anything. Despite the odd half decent performance he's show little to suggest he can step up to be our number one. He'll probably end up a competent championship keeper.

Rayo Vallecano & Walsall - loan partnerships
Turkish replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
The mark of a greater leader and a great human being. Able to adapt to the situation, make vital decisions at the right time and humble enough to change previous convictions if it'll be in the interests of the club or individual. Les Reeds on fire You're director of football is terrified -
The only fool round here is you pal, as you prove time and again. Think about it dumball, why would the player and agent want it dragging out? Certainly Mane and Van Dijk would have wanted the moves pushed through as they'd have got substantial pay rises. The agent would want it to happen as he'll get his cut. The only reason for it not to happen is so saints can keep the money in the bank longer saving a few quid along the way. Had we had Van Dijk involved in July we'd have progressed in Europe and got the four points we'd have needed to champions league qualification. Saving a few quid in wages has cost us Big time yet we never learn.

We like to leave our big signings right to the end of the window as these tend to be on the highest wages so the penny pinching board can save paying the big money out over the summer when they're seeing no ROI. Its a risking strategy and we've got lucky the last 3 years but we've also missed out on some top targets due to the sake of 5-6 weeks wages. We will pay for this strategy sooner rather than later, our luck will run out.

He was one of our best players when he wanted to be, about 4 or 5 times last season. People forget that for a lot of the season he was very very average, during one of his suspensions a lot of people felt Romeu had done well enough to keep his place in the side. He's a vey good player on his day but his day for us were few and far between for us last season. Romeu is a good player and with a full preseason under his belt and a year in England we'll see more from Claise this season as well.

When you say part of, do you mean cooked for someone who was out there? -

Not quite pal. Don't you think it's strange though that they were charging through the streets of Western Europe when they thought a cartoon only a small percentage of France would know about made them look bad. Yet a murder spree in the name of Islam raises little more than a murmur. -

When are the planned marches by Muslims from all of those opposed to these killing by their own? They managed to organise them in hours when there was a cartoon about that they didn't like. Surely all these killings are making them look far worse than a cartoon, you'd have thought they'd have been bursting to show everyone how much they oppose them. -
No way is he worth £12m, what are we doing now giving this clown a new deal. Yet more evidence Les Reed is clueless and doesn't know what he's doing.

I think there is already a thread for this sort of thing *locked*

Katharina Liebherr here for a good while yet

On a serious note Duncan I've bought all your books and they're all excellent. -

Did you berate her for not running the club for the fans anymore? -
"Pal" twice, you've hammered me there!! So you think a £24b deal suddenly happened in less than two weeks, it was never on the cards before. You've also ignored the FACT that clearly overseas companies are investing in Britain, they're going to at least double the UK based head count over the next five years creating over 4,000 jobs. If anything this is a good news story. But call me "pal" again, that's your knock out blow, pal

Yeah because it takes less than two weeks to sell a company the size of ARM for £24b, deal of that size happen that quickly all the time

I think in people's desperation to appear as lovely, caring people who love everyone they've got confused about what they actually believe in. Take homosexuality for example, one minute they're telling is how great it is gays can get married the next minute they're defending a religion where homosexuality is forbidden. -

I take it your wife has forgiven you for posting on here then? -
There is no way click insect was a club plant. He was an absolute loon who got caught out pretending he went to matches when he didn't. He was anti Koeman from the early days and also posted slagging Pelle off at half time on his home debut. He was always having digs at the club about transfers, wages and net spend. He disappeared off there when someone found out he ripped people off selling dodgy x-boxes or something like that.

You have redeemed yourself after your little tantrum 2 years ago. Of course mongboard credibility is one of the most important things that define our very existence. Holding such a high post count is certainly one of my key attributes on my CV. In my last interview when asked what evidence I could provide of my ability to maintain my convictions in the wake of stern opposition I pointed to the stadium expansion threads on here. Well done on your return to mongboard greatness and I hope it serves you well in other walks of life.

My old exclusives included but are not limited too, revealing we are in for Clyne 6 weeks before he signed. Revealing we were in for Matt Phillips and why the deal fell through. Revealing that Adkins had little to no input to transfers and was on borrowed time following our defeat at home to Reading in the championship. Plenty of other stuff about Cortese which was dismissed at the time as trolling. There were many others. I am ITK but I don't reveal my info any more due to the fact that most people on here are complete helmets.

No one ever said Cedric was a cheap replacement for Clyne. No one ever said you. Can't keep selling your best players and replacing them with cheap alternatives. No one ever said that. If you think people said it you're wrong, I certainly don't remember anyone saying those things this summer, last summer or the summer before. It didn't happen.
