For me Jos is the very definition of a 'clogger' - best moment was when Suarez ran through, the ref though LS had tripped Jos but actually he just fell over his own feet. Fonte scares me at this level, he doesn't use his brain enough.

What if you can't sew the deal up earlier? Should you accept a lesser quality of player NOW? Loads of players like Mata, Silva etc took time to settle and were better second season so thats when to really judge Ramirez IMO.

The management know what areas we need to improve and I am confident they will do so. It is worth remembering Alpine that in the real world the reason deals are left so late is that clubs, players, managers are all holding out for the best deal they can get. Players want to wait and see who comes in for them, clubs make offers for certain players and think towards the end of the window the price will go down and Managers want the best players they can get, why sign Mariappa in June if you can get Yoshida in August for example. It is just the way it works I'm afraid.

I think Yoshida has had a much better season than either of our other CBs and is a good player. Makes better decisions, is more mobile and less clumsy.

Personally would go Clyne LB and Cork at RB - the likes of Richardson just aren't up to it at this level.

Congratulate him on a great season for him personally and remind him that he is a Southampton legend.

Pretty much every game he allows a clear scoring chance for the opposition. He isnt good enough at this level.
