We didn't rescue his career. Plus we made a huge profit on him that enabled us to bring in better players and improve our squad.
-
Hopefully its the black box from summer 2014 rather than the virus-ridden 2015 version (Van Dijk aside).
-
Shall we just move on now? He has and he was only a Saints player for one season anyway plus was more than adequately replaced.

Saints announce partnership with Under Armour

Glad they avoided loads of American corporate bull**** in that statement. Seems like a good link up though. -

Besic, more spectacular if less reliable than McCarthy. -

Everton playing a clear first choice XI tonight from players available. -
If it had been a 4 day game it would have been a defeat for sure. Same frailties as last season plus two key bowling injuries already this season. Might just be worth putting Crane in rather than picking one of the non threat seamers. Some of the batters really need to show more otherwise we might need to find an Edwards equivalent Kolpak up there.
-
More he was brought in as injury cover and those injuries have passed now.

Stupid that most of the Young Player nominees are established Intl names: Kane, Lukaku, Coutinho etc It should be a breakthrough award, which this season Alli should win. It will probably end up being Kane.
-
Kaspar lucky his Dad probably told him clean sheets are important as a GK. Such an advantage over other GKs who might not have known.
-
Love the last bit about the scout maybe being there to watch Villa as we play them in 10 days. Incidentally Gueye is second only to Kante in tackles won this season.
-
Selco would be a good sponsor IMO.
-
You will struggle to find stats for the quality of a pass though, the weight and ability of the recipient to receive on the run.

Jagielka out injured which is probably bad news for us to be honest. -
Alex Chamberlain available in the summer?
Saint Charlie replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Standard John Cross. He is onto Arsenal's eight top summer target now incidentally. It was Wanyama a couple of months ago. Eventually one sticks. Similar to this. Probably agent fed to see who else is keen or Saints PR with season tickets on sale #scattergun -

Isn't life kinetics related to the stuff you see them doing in training throwing and catching those small balls? -
As others have said, Pelle surrounded by runners is an excellent hold up striker who often finishes well. Pelle as an isolated frontman does what you would expect from a player with his attributes. Its how you use him that is the key. He was excellent on Sat because we played to his strengths and he was able to help Long and Mane.

Can Southampton become a force in the premier league?
Saint Charlie replied to Soulful Odin's topic in The Saints
Generally teams do and with Wanyama we will probably want to sell him if he refuses to sign a new contract as expected. No point losing him for free next summer so it will be similar to the Clyne situation. -
Tadanari Lee - most overrated Saints player ever?
Saint Charlie replied to St Lej's topic in The Saints
Chung Lee playing in a behind closed doors U21 friendly this week apparently. -
Topley might not bowl for a month apparently. Would be somewhat of a disaster given Berg is unavailable too.

Good article in many places and raises several interesting points. Re Tadic I can't help but think that generally when he is on form the team is and whilst he can be frustrsting he has two massivwly key features: 1. He undoubtedly creates chances (even if his own finishing is dire) 2. He combines with the full back (especially Bertrand) miles better than anyone else in the squad. Especially last year attacking full backs were a great feature of our team and Tadic was/is great at helping that. Also have to agree on the final point. At some stage to improve or even stay where we are we will need to spend more money. Others will due to increased TV revenues and takeovers (Everton, Swansea etc) and usually you are as good as your recruitment. -
Spurs fans must be livid. I don't think they are totally out of contention for the title yet either. I know we have to be bitter about him and Spurs but he has delivered Champions League football, a title challenge and a class young team playing good football within two seasons of joining. Top job.
-
We can just play him in home games.
-
I think we need to win at least 4 of the last 5 and thats tough considering we play at Goodison which never ends well and also face City and Spurs at WHL. If you have a spell like we did in Dec/Jan then its going to be bloody tough to finish in the top 6. Games like Norwich away and Villa at home really stick out as being **** but then again Liverpool battered us for a good part of the recent game and got zero points.
