Phillip Hammond - Bigger pr*ck than Liam Fox
View From The Top replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Lounge
I don't think anyone working in education thinks sending everyone off to uni is a good idea. Far from it as it dilutes the sector. However, more & more young people EXPECT to go to uni and will find a course, somewhere. I've a meeting with ministers scheduled for next week ( I think it's still on) and from previous meetings, including with Gove, there is clearly no joined up thinking & a large degree of making things up on the hoof, especially post 16. I'll be encouraging my kids to go to uni at a Russell Group uni or in Holland! -
Depends what line you're on.
-
It's the parents fault. They see kiddy fiddlers in behind every tree and drug dealers & pimps behind every bush & are scared of letting their precious child out of their sight. My 10yo lad is allowed to go and play in the same way I did & has similar rules, which boil down to be home when you're told to be' don't play in the river & don't talk to strangers. My 7yo daughter walks her dog with her brother & they walk to school by themselves. The world is no more dangerous then when we were young, we just think it is. All my kids take part in sports, my nipper to a high standard in cricket & football and fast food is considered a treat, which when they are allowed it, it's through gritted teeth on my behalf. That said, we have ipads, xbox, PS3 etc & they all eat crisps yet are all tall, slim, happy & fit.

I envy you. That must have been a wonderful experience.

I still think folk are missing one huge, key, massive point in that they have to shift 8 odd players BEFORE they bring anyone in. If they can't get their wage bill down then the FL won't shift on signing players (keeper aside). It's a very slow death.

5/1 to go down on Bet Victor, best odds by some way.
-
This isn't about the past, it's about now & there is no way that the L1 clubs will allow it.
-
If they play the players that they have but can't afford the sh.it storm that will arise from the other L1 clubs will be huge. That will be considered "gaining an unfair advantage" & I'm quite sure that the club has been told that.

Missus read the 1st 100 odd pages and said it was awful. I read it & it's vanilla M&S porn for women who buy their knickers in ASDA and only **** with the light off. Asked the women at work why they didn't indulge instead of just reading about that & the general consensus was that it was pervy. I made a note of those who didn't think that One thing it has brought to light is how sh1t an awful lot of peoples sex life is!

Surprising amount around Mid/North Staffordshire & The Black Country as well. -
Both wrong.
-
Not for the 1st time you're wrong. They explained that whilst the two kits would be (h) & (a) for one season only they 2nd kit, to ensure that the expenditure, especially for those with kids, could be minimised was by way of the 2nd kit (11/12) become 3rd kit (12/13). Now run along and get searching, we know how you hate to be wrong.
-
As I've said countless times, I was told last season by the club, and it was published at the time of release, that our yellow kit from last season will be our 3rd kit this coming season.

I wear their Blue Harbour tees, get them at a M&S outlet in Walsall for around £5 each. I also wear their cords as I don't tend to wear jeans and they actually make them in 36/31 which makes them a perfect fit for me!

Decent parking at Heathrow airport T5 - Any suggestions?
View From The Top replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
We did that as well at Gatwick. Double room with parking worked out cheaper than just car parking at the airport. Flight was mid-morning so an lazy start to the day and a simple bus transfer to the airport. Flew from T5 in June & the long stay was fine. -
I prefer it to the stripes, which I've never liked. Our best ever kits weren't stripes. Never bought a striped home shirt but I'm tempted to get one of these for dosing & playing footy in.

Apparently the ticket money is "ringfenced".
-
I was also told that King Edwards are demanding rental, up front, a month in advance, in cash, hence the scramble to find somewhere else to train.
-
Apparently, it's a boycott.
-
Because far too many posters are total and utter pr1cks. Fair play to all those queuing, if I lived in Soton I'd have taken the nipper down and queued to get his.

As of Friday they had sold less than 3500 season tickets.
