  1. But they are all rampant lefties so this must also be a lie. But still, I'm sure you can supply plenty of evidence against the beeb for all their leftie programmes? No? Just the Make Poverty History campaign? Well I never, I thought the way you lot were harping on there would be dozens of examples but it appears that there isn't. How odd. Thankfully the Mail reading, not too bright oddballs, are in a very small minority.
  2. My two are showing up and I've done 5 aways.
  3. So, despite the non too bright Mail readers telling all comers that the Beeb is full of leftie bias none have been able to show one example of a bias programme? Thankfully the crackpots who want it abolished are a very small majority.
  4. I phoned Walsall and It's £20.50 on the turnstyle for away fans.
  5. We are a better team with Morgan in it and that, my fellow Saints, is a fact.
  6. No problem. You'll be parked up by 18.30(ish)
  7. And there was me thinking is was to distinguish our islands from Brittany.
  8. Bergkamps 1st goal for Arsenal against us at Highbury was a bit good IIRC.
  9. Due to my nipper having a re-arranged game I doubt we will be able to get down which in itself assures us of a win!
  10. 1st week of the school holidays so that means my nipper can go. Happy days.
  11. They have no money and payday is looming!
  12. The nipper and I are planning a jaunt to Fluminense V Flemenco in a couple of years time. Did the Rome derby during my *cough* sabbatical from English football. It was an evening game and it was bloody lively!
  13. I'm doing the Milan derby with my nipper in April. Planning on the Schalke / Dortmund and Old Firm at Ibrox derbies next season now the lad is that bit older.
  14. There is no way on God's green planet that the banks are going to up and leave London. The banks may threaten but the bankers themselves are well set on staying. It is worth remembering, that Barclays, until the Tresurey stopped them, were hellbent on buying Lehmann brothers, intact, in a deal that bordered on the criminal and WOULD have bought the financial system in the UK to its knees. It's also worth remembering, I feel, that it is us, the customers, of all the banks that are paying for their mistakes with the punitive borrowing and high interst rates and savings at a next to nothing interest rate. The tories won't do anything though, not with the City financing them.
  15. Ask the bankers themselves if they'd leave and you'll get a resounding NO. London is a world city and the draw of working in London, on even smaller rewards if the tax take take went up, outweighs extra ££ in Mumbai and the like. A number of institutions found that out when they sounded staff out in 2009/2010 when the fear of paying their way loomed large.
  16. Stanley has a point though in that Brown's dumb as f**k actions regarding raiding the pension funds was bordering on insane. I pay 8% into mine and it hurts, plenty!
  17. Of course those of us in the public sector haven't been doing that. Nope, not us. I must have imagined the recruitment freeze that we've had in place since 2009, the no pay rises since 2009, the sheding of jobs (more just gone), changing suppliers (twice) to screw down costs whilst still having to meet ever increasing targets set by funding agencies (not an issue with that). The problem with the cuts taking place now is the drive to do it all in year 1 is a HUGE mistake. Can the West Mids Police really afford to loose 1000 uniform police from frontline policing on top of the back of office staff? Can Staffordshire OB afford to close 5 stations and shed 300 uniformed frontline staff as well as back office staff? Can JCPs afford to shed staff whilst unemployment rises and the drive to get more folk into work kicks in, with no funding! A sensible (by whatever party) drive to cut over the lifetime of a parliament would have allowed savings and adjustments. Is it sensible to destroy the youth services at the same time as stopping EMA? The trouble that is going to come from that in metropolitan areas is frightening, as West Mids OB are on the record as saying. The people who attack those working in the public sector strike me to be, in the main, bitter petty people who have no real grasp of how many of us have had to go through the same "adjustment" as the private sector or what the public sector actually does.
  18. My nipper is suffering from really nasty shin pad rash after both the training sessions and matches. We wash the pads on a regular basis but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Does anyone know of a sensible cure/remedy of know if such a thing as hypoallegebic shin pads exist? Thanks muchly.
  19. I've asked my Doris how she'd feel about it. I just got "the look" in return so I'm guessing I won't be wearing her frillies anytime soon.
  20. Now, I appreciate you're quite hard of thinking so I suggest you turn you're limited intellect to actualy reading what I said. I always though that Dune was up there as the dumbest f**k on here but the more I read of your stupidity the more to realise that he's no where near you in the dumb as f**k race. As an ex-member of the forces I appreciated my pension provision and used it to my advantage in my next career. That said, you're whinging about how hard done by you are is rather pathetic. Forces pensions, if you reached a decent rank after 12/22 etc, are much better that the vast majority of the populations. I always considered my forces pension as generous compared to my civi oppos and it certainly worked out that way when I transfered it into my occupational pension. Dry your eyes, take a deep breath and calm down.
  21. Quick enough to mither about any other member of the public services though aren't you when you think their "fat" pensions are being subsidised Squaddies know the risks when they signed the dotted line, same as they always have, same as Jack and the crabfats. You knew the risks when you joined up and so did I.
  22. Just another pathetic excuse from a bunch of gimps to have a pop at Cortese.
  23. Since when have two wrongs made a right? The students that rioted were idiots and those who defaced the war memorials, well, let's not go there! Their behaviour, however, doesn't alter the general facts about the EDL marches. Have a quick google about their marches in Dudley and Stoke. I've no issue regarding their right to exist or march, the same way I have no issue with any group, no matter how abhorrent they are because I'm proud to live in a liberal democracy. This attitude, however, does not mean I have to support the views of modus operandi of those organisations that do march for a cause they believe in.
  24. IIRC that would be Hugh Stanley who last I heard was teaching at Beechwood Middle School. Drop me a line on terraceclassics@gmail.com
