  1. I'm going to assume that it's pay on the night as it will be a late call whether I can get up the M6 from The Black Country in time for KO. I believe that the players finally believe in Adkins and that they will go up and that belief will bring us through on Tuesday.
  2. Best signing of the January window.
  3. According to Stanley the Crusades were nothing to do with religion and only about trade in Asia Minor. Pope Urban II clearly meant to point that out at Clermont in 1095 when he said: But hay, let's not get historical fact get in the way of Stanley's view.
  4. I think Corps bitterness is there for all to see. It must be hard watching your club crumble infront of meagre crowds when your rivals are on the up playing in front of way bigger gates despite being a league lower. I also didn't realise that he was so hard of thinking to actually imagine we were mortally wounded by losing to them in the cup. Bless him, he really doesn't understand us at all. At least he has the warm glow of all the inside information that he gets from his contact inside pompey, who he sees socially every two weeks or so. That's always proven to be very accurate.
  5. The cup is a distraction, I'd sooner be taking 3pts off Oldham on Saturday. Instead we have to play Sat/Tues whilst Oldham get extra time to rest a prepare. Promotion is all that counts this season.
  6. GH is also doing a great job at Villa.
  7. Started taking my nipper when he was 5. He's 8 now and goes home and away with me and has a season ticket. Started with a pre-season games and then a couple of away games to see how he got on. He's hooked.
  8. If only we had Hoddle to get him fit with his heebie jeebie magic.
  9. Charlie Austin would be an excellent addition but we still need, IMHO, some genuine speed on the flank as young AOX can't be expected to play week after week.
  10. Just had my ticket confirmed (Cheers Dave) and I'll be parking at an oppos 5mins from the ground which is a bonus. Another ground to tick off and hopefully the long drive home will be worth it with 3pts safely in the bag.
  11. I love my life but then again I'm very happily married with three wonderful kids. I also have the added bonus of a professional career I love and a very profitable small business.
  12. I met my wife 19 years ago at a NYE party. This NYE we will take the kids out for a meal and then when they are in bed watch a movie and enjoy a decent bottle of wine. Certainly beats being home on your own!
  13. Morgan for Collingwood prehaps?
  14. Fantastic word use. 10/10.
  15. Nailed on win due to my apathy and CAB attitude to driving down South. This attitude is likely to still be in place on the 1st so another 3pts then as well!
  16. 140 miles north of SMS.
  17. My total and utter apathy with SFC means my season ticket seats will go unused today. I just CBA to travel down. Nailed on home win due to that.
  18. Beckham is a genuine sporting icon and the work he puts in off the field puts the vast majority to shame. In that game against Greece in 1991 he put in the best individual performance, for 90mins, I've ever seen from an English player. He really wasn't going to miss out on the World Cup finals. If the rest of his generation had but in the same amount of pride, passion and commitment perhaps they would have lived up to their billing of "golden". He, IMHO, certainly deserves a knighthood.
  19. But all the free market right wingers think it's good that we import the majority of our energy needs because it's cheaper and would be therefore more than happy to be paying the increased bills that the free market would deem appropriate. Hang on. Are you saying that our energy supplies could be held to ransom? That we are in the hold of the Russian Bear? What about the 100s of years of gas under the North Sea that we were told would supply us with cheap clean energy in the future? Could it be that we were lied to during the "dash for gas" that coincided with closing our mines and privatizing the gas industry? No, the tories lie to us and leave us at the behest of hostile nations and world politics? I don't believe it.
  20. Are we at risk from North Korea? No, of course not. I'd prefer the Andrew to be tasked with ensuring our sea lanes our secure as well as the usual WI & FI guardships. We are far to small and feeble to have any sort of role in Korea and nor should we anyway.
  21. If you're a youngster and just want gaming then an xbox fits the bill. If you're an adult and want your console to do more then PS3. I play both online on a regualr basis and the difference between them is the price of xbox gold and anyone who tells you otherwise is talking out of the @rse.
  22. Which is what I said earlier. Only an idiot cannot see the benefits of energy security. Some of our more dumb posters seem to think it's a good thing that the markets dictate that we import our coal from Poland, our gas from Russia and increasingly by sea from Nigeria and our oil from the Middle East. The really dumb one(s) fail to understand that prices are only going in one direction, and it isn't down. If nothing else a drive to greener energy stops us being hostage to others.
  23. I disagree. I believe it would result in a weak minority tory government. No way the tories would get a mandate after the cuts they've revealed, combined with the hike in tuition fees. The Liberals, either way, are dead.
  24. You're assuming that most believe in man made climate change, which they don't. Most believe that climate change is happening and happen to believe that mans' activities "may" be adding to that change.
  25. Does that not exactly prove that we are not used to extreame weather anymore hence the shutdown that happens when we do get it. QED, they're correct. How many of us can remember an extended period of such weather, in December? I certainly can't. How many of us can remember so much snow in December? I can't.
