  1. Hard to disagree with this.
  2. Our new kit seems to be available everywhere now. Saw it in Lifestyle Sports in Dublin last week. €75.00 is a bit steep though. http://www.lifestylesports.com/en/restofworld/premier-league/southampton/icat/premleaguesplsouthampton
  3. Great that we've tied him to a long term deal as I think he's probably our hardest working player. I'd be over the moon if he got 20+ goals in a season. However, he's one of those frustrating strikers who gets into some great positions but is then let down by poor finishing. If he can improve his finishing then we're on to a winner. However, I'm not sure about using him upfront on his own. My gut feeling is that he's better playing off a front man and will always be one of those who contributes 10-12 goals a season. That said, if we can keep Austin fit and he can bag 18+, then 30+ goals between him and Long doesn't sound too shabby.
  4. As long as there's players agents, who get a massive cut from any transfer fee, you will never create an environment where players want to stay. It's not about the club, loyalty or even playing at the highest level any more. As you say, why would a player leave a club who are about to play in the Champions league for a club who are not playing european football?..... MONEY! Players don't give a **** about who they play for as long as they're getting paid mega bucks. They'll kiss the badge whilst they're there but watch them run when their agent smells more money. It's all about looking after number one and going wherever the agent can get the best deal. As Didi Hamann recently said "The Premier League is not the best league in the world, it's a farce. The players all earn too much money - which is not their fault, but they have no loyalty and no incentive to improve their game. Their wages should be performance based. Whilst you give players huge sums of money without any incentive to earn, you are never going to get the best from anyone".
  5. How can anyone take that man seriously? Quote... "I believe as a group we probably have a choice from the best pool of midfield options in the Premier League." What an utterly ridiculous thing to say. The man must be deluded if he believes that. Statements like that just make him look like a complete ****!
  6. Sadly, I don't think we'll be anywhere near the top 10. I predict that Puel will be sacked before the season's over.
  7. Phew! And I was starting to worry about how they were going to spend the Mane money. Good to hear its being spent wisely.
  8. What did our lot say? "We're the masters of building up your hopes and then letting you down in exchange for filling our bank account"
  9. If that's our new kit it'll be the first one I've not purchased since 1980. It's ****ing awful!!!
  10. Am I the only one who has a gut feeling that Puel really isn't the right man for the job?
  11. I'll bet you a cheese sandwich he's out of a job with us by this time next year.
  12. He'll be out of work by March.
  13. Ok, Maybe 'stance' is the wrong choice of word? Perhaps 'statement of intent' would have been a better choice? Either way, they did something that made him want to stay.
  14. Firstly, The decision on Wanyama would have never been Koeman's! Secondly, I didn't say the same about us selling Lallana and replacing him with Mane. I was never a huge Lallana fan and always felt he would be easy to replace, unlike some of the other players we've sold. Interestingly, I do remember people on here saying that Mane was our worst signing since Ali Dia after about 10 games. lol
  15. Koeman was the reason we were successful after the sale of so many players, not Les Reed. You just can't get away with selling your best players at the end of every season. Eventually it will catch up with you. I wonder how many of you will still be singing Reed's praises come the end of next season???
  16. Why are we selling our best player... Again? The big boys came knocking for Vardy and he decided to stay put. If a club like Leicester can make a stance then why can't we? We're into our third season of selling the crown jewels and it's becoming pretty tiresome. Every club in the league knows we're a soft touch. Who cares about fleecing Liverpool every season? I want to see us win something and that's not going to happen while we keep selling players and ****ing off the manager.
  17. He's a half decent player, but can someone explain why are we buying players when we are managerless? Does the manager not have a say in these things anymore, or are we heading back to the days of Rupert Lowe where the Chairman wants to be involved in the team selection? Look how that ended! Koeman's departure is making more and more sense by the day.
  18. So do Leicester City but they managed to hang on to their prize asset. If Vardy was a Saints player we'd have already sold him. What we are doing does nothing for the fans or the long term future of the club.
  19. I totally agree. I'm sick to the back teeth with it. Even the manager has ****ed off this season. He probably saw the list of players who were going to be sold and realised his position as manger had become untenable. We won't get away with it this time and in a strange way, I hope we don't. The board need to learn a lesson. How many other clubs would repeatedly accept this?
  20. If we go for him then there's something seriously wrong with the board. I'd see a move for Howe as nothing more than a money saving gamble. He's got zero experience when it comes to European football and as you said, his failure at Burnley causes concern.
  21. So he's been offered £100m to spend. Has anyone told him that £70m of that is coming from the sale of Stones & Lukaku? He's a ****ing mug for going there. Had he gone to Arsenal or a big European club I'd be wishing him well. But to go to a club like Everton in that manner that he has absolutely disgusts me.
  22. Southampton is where my heart is... Merseyside is where my wallet is. He's gone right down in my estimation. He's a bigger **** than Pochettino!!!
